SMART parking f.ine help pls 13th Feb 18 at 1:35 PM
received a parking notice from smart parking yesterday, parked at sports direct in darlington and never crossed my mind you have to get a ticket. is there anything I can do about the notice or do I just pay it, I read the sticky notes and feel very confuse of what to do for the best.

I can only guess that you haven't yet seen this thread:

In post #1 of that thread you will find a template appeal.

Just send it as it is - without change.

thank you, I did read but found if all very confusing, don't want to risk a bigger fine as the driver did not get a ticket from the machine

    Not much thinking required.

Just send the appeal as described earlier.

Please edit your latest post to avoid any clues to the driver's identity.

Perhaps it should look something like:
thank you, I did read but found if all very confusing, don't want to risk a bigger fine as the driver did not get a ticket from the machine
    Notice the subtle difference?

As long as the driver isn't identified you will have no need to pay anything.

Immediately above the appeal text are these words:
Template appeal for BPA or IPC members - copy this wording into the online appeal box::
Immediately following that appeal text are these words:
ALWAYS USE THE ONLINE APPEAL PAGE - OR EMAIL IF OFFERED AS AN OPTION ON THE NOTICE - BECAUSE THE APPEAL CANNOT GET LOST AND YOU CAN KEEP PROOF/ A SCREENSHOT
I'll leave you to work out the answer to your question.

This is not a fine. Smart were names and shamed in the HoC recently as scammers, watch the video here.
