Need help finding a printer that takes cheap ink 13th Feb 18 at 8:58 AM
Ive never had a printer before but i know from the past they make there money on the inks

I want it to be wireless and can print, fax and copy i will only really use black ink for forms and letters.I want the ink to be really cheap and the printer doesnt have to be the latest and greatest also i would like a small black one.

    Cheers

Do not buy genuine ink - ie) Epson costs around 10 per cartridge
I can get at least 30 for 20 from various Amazon retailers
So - choose your printer, based on what cartridges are available

One way to find out which printers have cheap ink is to do a search on eBay for printer cartridges. Select only "buy it now" listings and sort in order of price.

I used to be able to get cartridges for my old inkjet printer for about 1 to 1.50.

OP, I have a 5 ish year old HP all in one Wi-Fi printer - costs about 20 for a full set of compatible inks from Tesco (Black plus 3 separate colours). Don't know the model number, but as others have said, if your concern is ink cost, price them up first. I've had Epsom printers previously and they are usually reasonable for compatible inks as well. We got the printer from Tesco with club card vouchers.

I can buy two sets of ink for my Canon, delivered to my door, for about 8.50. That's 10 cartridges, as there are 5 per set. The quality of these cartridges is good and isn't washed out like most of the cheap ink is.

I have a Canon MG5450 which has everything you said you want. It has 5 inks (large black, normal size black for photos and 3 seperate colour) I find that having seperate colours means you can change just the one that runs out. With the 3 colour carts if only one colour has run out you have to change the whole thing. The MG5450 takes compatible carts easily available on Ebay from as little as 6 a full set although I have found that the slightly more expensive carts are usually better quality ink.

Another vote for a mono Samsung laser printer, about 60-70.

Always used inks at well under 1 each from eBay in my Canon MX920. Last lot were 3.45 for the set of 5.

My wife does a LOT of printing, no problems. No point paying more than a 1 per XL Cartridge IMHO

If you aren't going to be using it regularly DO NOT buy an inkjet printer, buy a laser one.
