Hi we need around 500 euro cash to pay for our accommodation when we arrive in Tenerife, we wondered if it would be better to get the Euros befrore we left the UK or use my Halifax clarity card and get the euros from an ATM when in Tenerife.
    Thanks

You'll get a better deal in Tenerife at an ATM - there will be a limit on the amount of cash you can lift in a single transaction.

I believe the Halifax Clarity is 500 per day, which means you'll be OK.

Always remember to opt to be charged in Euros when the machine asks the question - do not choose to settle in Sterling.

Also, you can reduce the interest charged on your card if you settle up the full amount as soon as possible by transferring funds to the Halifax CC card account via banking app.

If you have a qualifying Santander adult current account with a Visa debit card you can withdraw cash from a Santander badged hole in the wall in Spain (and certain other countries) fee free - the Canaries are Spanish of course.

Would be better to pay for accommodation with Halifax Clarity rather than get the money out of machine as it won't attract any interest (I know it's peanuts anyway) You possibly get a better rate for goods? Again always choose to pay in euros.

Looks like the OP is indicating that the accommodation needs to be paid in cash.
