    Password 9th Feb 18 at 9:23 PM
Forum just told me to change my password as it is over a year old.

For Petes sake there is nothing worth securing on this forum so why the ridiculous idea you should have to regularly change your password.

I thought that the whole point of MSE was to bring common sense into things instead of being idiotically bureaucratically stupid.

    Rant over

Yeah I had the same after 72 days! Just used the same password as before.

I guess MSE are really worried that someone may hack into my account and start complaining about solicitors and EAs!

WHY have I been asked to change my password again?

    Has MSE admin gone mad?

Very irritating. Did just put my old password in (prior to the last change) but only did this five days ago.

Please MSE put this right if its an error, no other site expects you to change your password after five days. I love this site but won't if I have to keep messing with passwords.

Insanity. I just had a message "your password in 5 days old and has therefore expired" (my emphasis)

What's next, change it every minute ?

I "changed" it to the same one. Sort it out MSE.

The new request to change your password after 5 days is a glitch. MSE are aware and will be fixing it.

In the mean time, you can choose your new password to be the same as your old. one.

Yep....and me...had to do mine again.

I just changed it back to the original password and decided I'd better have a policy of re-cycling through between two passwords. Hopefully that will be sufficient to deal with any further such scenarios and I'll just have to remember two passwords to swop between.

...and they STILL haven't made the passwords secure yet.......months after the need became evident...

You don't even need do that MITSTM, you can "change" your MSE password to the same one, I just did. So much for their banter about it enhancing security.
