    ~Make upto 10 a day February 2018~ 31st Jan 18 at 9:54 PM
    Hello and welcome everybody

This is the 126th month of this challenge, which was first started by Batgirl, in September 2007. A link here to the original thread as I am sure some of you are interested to read where it all began.

Thanks to Batgirl for starting it, lynnejk and ALL posters, for helping us to keep the thread going. Thanks to previous challengers who used to run this thread too, Rawdinosaur, Emmaglet, Nat21luv, Monkeynut, Sweetpeas, Purpleroses, JesaRose, MizMir.

I have decided to rename this challenge as reading posts, it seems to put people off thinking they HAVE TO make 10 a day.

    You don't.

The original purpose of this challenge was to help people to try and make an extra 10 a day on top of their normal income to help things along. Ie paying off debt, making savings, paying for holidays, overpaying mortgages etc.

That is exactly what this challenge is about, attempting to make extra income on top of your normal income to help you wherever you need it.

People start the challenge by setting a goal of 1 a day. Then when they find they are smashing this regularly, they up it to 5 a day. Some of us gluttons for punishment go for 10 a day. It really is entirely upto you. We only ask you to post what your goal is to help you keep motivated. Some days you make more and some days you make less, but aim for extra at the end of the month.

The idea is that everyone posts how they are making extra money and these shared ideas help all of us to learn new ways to help cut debt or earn/save money.

    What cannot be added:
    Wages from your main job

    What can be added:
    Overtime
    Income from a second job
    Daily clicks
    Interest
    Vouchers
    Mystery shopping
    And much, much more.

This board moves pretty quickly, so be sure to subscribe and read it regularly.

    Link to previous thread.

So who wants to kick 2018 into a financially working for you year?

Join this challenge and let's make those bank accounts fat, mortgages paid off, holidays paid off, savings account grow fatter, debts paid off and much much more!!!

Thanks for all the well-wishes. Good news (fingers crossed) is that I finally, at long last, appear to be over my cold, and everyone else is improving

Had a bit of quality time with the 4yr old today whilst my wife was out at a baby shower, with the youngest. Felt bad that she couldn't go swimming yesterday - so we wrapped up and played in the garden, first go on the trampoline in 2018 as well. That soon put a smile on her face. Bless her, she's been ever so brave with her ear.

CBC - if I can give just one piece of advice. Make sure whatever you go for with a new laptop/pc, that it has an SSD instead of a regular hard drive. The performance benefits are superb. Depending on your existing machine spec (RAM/processor etc), you may find that putting an SSD in it is as good as buying a new laptop, and at a fraction of the cost.

Had another unbelievable day today, and with the Superbowl not starting until 11:30pm, I've a few bets that won't settle until the early hours, so I'll include those in tomorrow's total. 92.75 from matched betting today.

Aw hun sorry to hear your having a tough time! Life sometimes likes to kick you when you!!!8217;re down doesn!!!8217;t it?

I!!!8217;m really struggling with the challenge this month and feeling a bit down as I just found out that the scoliosis I was diagnosised with before Christmas is worse than thought and is probably going to get worse! All that on top of the fact that my other medication is making me fat! I!!!8217;m hoping to save some money and take my wife away for a weekend for her birthday. Anyone have any ideas?

Sorry about the long post. Good luck to you all for the month ahead.

Thank you for your support guys. I have some difficult decisions to make over the next few weeks that I have been putting off. It only ever makes things worse but we all do it don't we?

I'm off the mark for the month with 10p from citizenme and 81p interest. Hmm 91p - let's hope it improves as the month goes on!

My current laptop was bought in a hurry as an emergency when my previous old one finally died and wasn't cost-effective to get repaired. The old one weighed a ton too so wasn't all that convenient. Funds were in short supply at the time so I bought the cheapest available so I could get it that day. I realised that the spec was very low but I expected it would do as an emergency temporary laptop.

I really want a Mac but fear this is a want rather than a need. I've always lusted after one since the days when Macs were quite uncommon in UK. It was always the price that put me off though. I need a bigger screen this time too, my current laptop seems so small compared to my last one. The larger screen Macs are eyewateringly expensive

I don't want to pay for adding a SSD to the one I've got, or rather paying someone else to do it for me as I'm technologically useless. So long as I don't try to download too much it serves me OK normally for the limited stuff I tend to do with it at the moment. I don't need speed necessarily and with the slow broadband speed we get in this neck of the woods anyway and the basic operations I do on my laptop I think I'll save my money for now. It was only this latest Windows download that proved problematic but even that's sorted now.

Massive congratulations on your Superbowl and other winnings.

You're not being a misery, shariann. We're all here to support each other through whatever life throws at us, not just to cheer one another on as we try to make money.

It's really good to be able to unburden ourselves to people who aren't so close to our real life situation. The lovely people on here aren't going to judge or criticise, just offer virtual hugs and encouragement to help one another through the bad times. There are so many times that I've thanked my lucky stars that I came upon this thread and the people on it.

Take care of yourself. Even the worst of times will pass

CBC that's amazing that you have paid off so much! Any tips? I only have mortgage debt, but anxious to pay down a huge chunk of the mortgage so I can afford to go part time and spend more time with baby. It always feels like whatever I do isn't enough and I'll never get there and it's hard to keep going.

Still struggling to figure out a work life balance now I'm back at work and so still being rubbish and haven't updated my total from last month. Will do that later hopefully after baby is asleep.

Feeling a bit better about leaving baby at nursery. He was crying this morning and so I rang on to check on him and they said he was happy and absolutely fine. I went to pick him up and he was walking around happily, then saw me and started crying. I picked him up and he stopped and had a cheeky grin on his face.. naughty baby! They just like to make us feel bad I guess!
