Unbelievably my very long running diary of 5 years seems to have been deleted Not happy about this to say the least

Not sure what to do about it. Need my diary to keep me sane and on track.

Had to swiftly come up with a new title, had been meaning to start a new diary but not this way.

Anyway, in brief for those who don't know, my life changed drastically 5 years ago when my OH got Lymphoma in his brain, nearly lost his life but miraculously survived, although he has permanent brain damage and is disabled. So we lost his wage and I'm now the sole breadwinner. At its highest debt was around £5k but paid off thankfully.

I try to keep as normal a life as I can.

Still really angry my old diary has gone

How are you finding the increased mortgage payment?[/QUOTE]

ES - surprisingly manageable to say it's gone from zero to £400 a month. Had to tighten our belts a fair bit but no one's suffering.

Ah the civil service and their competencies!! Lots of irrelevant hoops you have to jump through to prove you can do the job. Good luck on writing those. Still if it gives you a promotion it is worth it.

    Hi Sun Addict

How are the competencies coming along?

You struck me as a very understanding and able person. They would be very lucky to have you in either of the new jobs. The things you have coped with would have floored most people.

Take care honey, it was absolutely wonderful to meet you

I've made some notes which I'll type up tomorrow when I'm in work mode. However, I've noticed something on the job spec which seems to imply it's not on promotion and you already have to be that grade. Will check with my manager. All is not lost though as the other job is definitely on promotion.

Thank you Pauline, it was lovely to meet you too

Lucky I have to eat really plain food with no flavour first thing, even fruit tastes too sugary - I know I'm weird Having said that I eat my breakfast just after 5am - I'm ok after about 9am.

And that's the weekend done Here we go again ......

Not managed to get to diaries for a few days - this work lark is interfering with my social life - both my virtual and in RL - and I've come back to see your old diary has been recovered - I'm so pleased. There's been some good work going on behind the scenes

    Fingers crossed for the promotions.

Tut-tut to Mr SA coat - don't blame you taking the money....if he's savvy enough to take it to get it changed he's savvy enough to pay the consequence.....

Well done on the emergency fund too....I'm not doing well spend or eating wise at the moment - too easily distracted on both counts.

    Monday done and dusted

Got back to my desk after a meeting this morning to find 6 missed calls from Mr SA on my phone. He was in a panic about his back, said he'd been on the park with the dog, got off his scooter and couldn't get back on. Two people had to help him. Rang the doctors, said they were full and if urgent to go to walk in centre. Mentioned him being disabled and suddenly he had an appointment for 4pm.

Had to leave work early to get home before he set out as the plasterer was there.

Anyway the doctor thinks he's pulled a muscle and prescribed anti inflammatory tablets.

The painter is coming round tomorrow to give us a quote for the dining room. Not sure what colour I want yet, keep changing my mind but there's a full tin left over from the bathroom so might use that for a feature wall (it's jade green) and get some lighter paint for the rest.

AFD 2 tonight - need to clock some more up as lagging behind last month's total.

So far the tablets are working for Mr SA and have taken the edge off the pain.

The plastering is done but quite a bit of mess to clear up. Good job we're having a new floor is all I can say!

AFD 3 despite absolutely manic day at work.

Competencies are done finally and I'll submit the job application number 1 tomorrow - which is the deadline. Then it's on to application number 2, which needs totally different competencies.

Can't believe we're halfway through February already.

Mr SA got the all clear again

He saw a new consultant, a trainee doctor, he was really good and had a good look at his back. He said if the pain doesn't go to ring the clinic and they'll get it X-rayed, bypass the GP. He's also put him on the list to see the new psychologist when recruited.

Took him for lunch at the local to celebrate.

Submitted job application number 1 yesterday, one more to go. Didn't get my competencies checked, which you're supposed to by an experienced sifter, I ran out of time. It will be a miracle if I get through the sift but you've got to be in it to win it.

Yesterday was another NSD but not AFD as Mr SA bought me a bottle of Prosecco for Valentine's. Didn't drink it all by the way These days a couple of glasses of wine and I'm done.

Painter starts work next Tuesday £160 to paint everything - ceiling, woodwork, walls the lot. If I can get the floor done before holiday that will be fab. The furniture can be bought gradually.

    Holiday 9 weeks today
