The Four Rowers. 13th Jan 18 at 1:53 PM
Did anyone see these guys on Bbc Btrekfast this morning ?
They're just 4 ordinary blokes, who until a year or two ago had never even picked up an ore, and now they're record breakers. They've just crossed the Atlantic in a record time in an open rowing boat. They're all over 6' tall and the boat isn't much over 20'. And they only had a bucket to use for a toilet.
They were doing it to raise money for charity.
When i use to go sailing it was mostly only on a small lake. The wind somedays made it exciting, but what must it be like if you have waves 30' or 40' high.
Well done them. Would you do anything like that for charity ?

Why do it for charity, why not the hell of it.?

Not sure I could be as brave.

No. My charitable deeds are limited to regular volunteering and the occasional bag-packing session in a local supermarket. I'm no adrenaline junkie, and IME the only people who tend to do such things for charity are the ones who like doing those activities anyway.
