Canaries in March 10th Jan 18 at 10:36 PM
We're looking to go to the canaries in March as the title suggests.
However it seems to be really expensive compared to when we went in Nov.
As we've never been this time of year before we don't know if this usual for this time of year or not. Can anyone who goes this time of year confirm if this is usual please?

Looking for any Canary island, but would prefer Fuerteventura or Tenerife. Purely as we did Gran canaria and Lanzarote last yr.
Gatwick departure 10/11 March for seven days.
OH prefers AI. (And as he's paying its his call)

IME Feb/Mar is more expensive than Nov in the Canaries. However we've been to Tenerife the last 3 years during the last few days of Feb, returning early March and the price was the same each time (in fact each year the price has reduced by about £10!). We tend to book a few months ahead.

Maybe you're finding the price higher for last-minute deals as there's fewer around since Monarch are now out of the market?

    Thanks for that information Alikay.
Never been this time of year before so no idea of the market.

We only booked Nov holiday about ten week prior and got a deal.
But the reason we're so late this time is that we wasn't sure about dates with hubbys work.

Prices across the Canaries in so called low season have been on a rise since other previously popular destinations like Egypt and Tunisia have lost their attraction due to terrorist incidents.

In recent times the Canarian government has looked seriously at cutting down on the overall number of tourist visiting the islands which are reportedly struggling to cope with the influx on a number of fronts.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/travel/travel_news/article-3162201/The-Magaluf-effect-Canary-Islands-impose-limits-tourism-increase-visitor-numbers-killing-quality-Spain.html

The Daily Mail often punts opinionated mince, however othertimes it is on the correct track.

You can save a few quid by booking via Topcashback or Quidco - following the links to the usual suspects like TUI, Thomas Cook and Jet2.

We visit Lanzarote in March, June and September every year. We stay in hotels all inclusive. The price varies very little whichever month we travel. Egypt used to be our destination of choice but currently we have no desire to return. Other travellers clearly feel the same way which has made the Canaries a much in demand destination.

Have you looked at Jet2 holidays? We got a really good deal with them last Easter.

Have a look on skyscanner for flights - go for whole of March to see if there's dates either side that's cheaper - and trivago for accommodation- splitting it might get you a discount. Then go through topcashback to get money back. I did it but with rewards4racing and got nearly £30 of points too. I'm going self catering in June for under £230, all inclusive is normally a fair bit more
    My targets to end 2018:
    1) To get down to 11 st 7lbs then treat to a safari. At start 17 stone 7 lbs: *61lbs lost* *30lbs to go*
    1st started SW16st13lbs tues11/7/17 - 38 weeks -53lbs
    2nd sw 14 st 12lbs Fri15/6/18 -> 0 weeks -0lbs
    2) to find new challenges

We havenít been to Lanzarote before and looking to go at the end of February. Jet2.com were recommended to us and looking on this thread there are a couple of posts saying the same. Would anyone recommend any very good hotels, all inclusive please? Many thanks.

UPDATE: Complete change of mind and yesterday booked Dubai! Same price as hotels in Lanzarote we had looked at.
