    Acupuncture 9th Jan 18 at 5:40 PM
Has anyone tried acupuncture for long term pain?

I have signed up for 6 free treatments in a specialist acupuncture clinic that has funding until March for free sessions for those on a low income. When the free funding runs out they have a system where you pay what you can afford, the minimum amount being £15 which I believe is very good.

I have had 2 sessions so far and it has made a slight difference. Other patients I have spoken to are very enthusiastic including my OH.

I would be interested in hearing other people’s views.

The only drawback is the clinic is situated right in the middle of Dartmoor.

I used it as part of stress management when I was going through a really difficult time a while ago. I believe it really helped. Of course, the key word there may be "believe". But if it works for you then go for it.

    I paid a lot more than £15 a session!

I have used acupuncture in the past for help with arthritic knees and I found it quite helpful. Since then I've had knee replacements.
£15 is very cheap, think I paid about £40......

They use acupuncture to treat animals so it is not a case of 'believing'

I had a headache for 9 days that nothing would get rid of, and i mean nothing! I went to my GP out of desperation and she suggested acupuncture, which she did there and then and within two hours, the headache was gone
