Las Vegas guide and MSE thread 2018 5th Jan 18 at 7:51 PM
Las Vegas unlike nearly every other holiday destination you may have visited. In Vegas the hotels ARE the attractions. Most have a huge casino attached, but if you think that's all there is to the place, you are sorely mistaken! Each hotel is very different, with its own theme and attractions.

The good news is, is that Vegas can be a friend for us Money Saving Experts, with lots of free attractions, cheap eats/drinks and value for money to be had.

This page cannot hope to cover everything, but should point you towards some good money saving tips. All information at the start of this thread is put together by members of the forum and is accurate at the time of writing - we will update it when we can.

After reading the 'information' posts at the start of this thread, feel free to ask a question and join the discussion! We have lots of Vegas regulars contributing to this thread - join the gang!

    Thanks Stevie

I suspected as much. I've been through my hire prices for the past 6 years on usrentacar and the most I've paid is $300 for 12 days. Guess that's the way it goes. I've booked the Autoeurope rate just now but it has free cancellation until close to the pickup date so I'll keep checking for discounts.

I'm off on my 11th Vegas trip in a couple of weeks and we're considering hiring a poolside cabana. I know they are hideously expensive, but I'm looking for a site where I can see all the costs/terms and conditions together. Going through each hotel's site is taking forever.

    Any ideas, folks?

The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Not just car hire expensive flights are up and down as well.
I booked at £750 (ouch) - they went up to over £1000 down to £626 and now back up to over £800!

(I know I shouldn't look as there is nothing I can do in any case but I can't help it LOL)

there all still high at the moment
on average (basing on Fullsize car), costs are about £30 more..
ie: Average is £150 for 1 week fullsize rental...
    Currently showing £180 + hmmmmmmmmmm.......

    **edit **
Done a search on AutoEurope, and showing £162, so not too bad, but needs to drop below £150 ! (renter is Europcar, didn't know they operate in the US ? ) , and just read Europcar is 'Advantage car rental' in the US ...

    **
Looking at my records from last year, we paid £158 for 1 week in std size SUV with Dollar (through AutoEurope)..... Price today for same car is £221
But as I recall, I kept making bookings and cancelling when the price dropped!

    Hi Folks,
Does anyone have the Thomas Cook flight schedule (what days they fly) for Manchester to Vegas? I've spent the last 40 minutes on their website trying to figure it out with no luck.

    Thanks!

Everything was fine although you are told the vehicle and plate number when checking in so could not select like in other rental agencies. I know you like the $20/50 trick when selecting the cars. I like to be able to pick my own vehicle, having been known to just walk a little further and select a camero when I should have had a standard. The guy at the barrier never batted an eyelid

(If you are watching Thomas Cook - sort it out - a six year old can do better - or hold on it looks like a six year old did it for you)

Go through Expedia and search for direct flights - they will show them there for you - go through Quidco or other cashback site for something back if you book.

I ended up with a good host contact last year for nightclubs. My original enquiry was for Marquee but he could sort us out at a few others too.
