I have just bought an ASUS router of flea bay with vpn added and I have this connected to my service provider supplied Technicolour router and all is great.
My question is the asus usb application called media server .
Would I be able to use this to watch movies ect stored on my desktop PC hard drive on my smart tv ??

I dont know about Asus version i thought that was just connected hard drives to your router being available to all computers on your network.

However if you install plex on your pc and on your smart tv then you can have all your media files streamable to any device with connected plex installed on at home or anywhere on the internet even when you go on holiday
