Stash Busting 2018 - I WILL use my mountains of craft stash before buying more! 3rd Jan 18 at 8:41 PM
    Hi crafters,

Using the concept from the 2017 thread (and going back as far as 2014 I think...) - originally set up by 'Crafting Mad' - this is hopefully to keep us all on track - and to help us all workour way through our crazy big stashes...

Welcome to the new 2018 stash busters thread.

You can find the 2016 thread here:-
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=5386359

    and the 2017 thread here:
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=5580023

Well done to all the crafters who took part in 2017. Everyone was amazing and the thread helped so many people that hopefully 2018 can be the same.

For those of you who are new here are a quick recap of the (very loose) rules:-

The rules of the challenge are simple.

You can make anything you like but everything you make must be made using items from your current stash.

You are allowed to print things from cds etc and print any photos etc which may be needed for scrap booking pages but you must not buy any new stash until your target has been met (except for if it is something to enable you to finish of a project such as adhesive etc).

However this challenge is just for fun so if you do sin (and I'm sure there will be many - with me at the top of the list!!) then post for forgiveness and keep creating and having fun xxx

So who's with me this year? Tell me your target and you'll be added to the list Old and new members are welcomed alike

Anyone can join in at any time

    Happy stash busting

I'm quickly popping in to declare a further 13 items made.

1 x birthday card made by my son using my stash so I'm counting it towards my total

and 12 mini seed packs so I'm now up to 70 items which is 10% of my target reached

My stash is getting bigger. People keep giving me things, fabric mainly, and I can't pass a skip without having a look in and usually rescuing something, and yesterday I went to the Scrapstore at Hull and bought some super cheap fabric and paint. There is no hope for me.

    Hi again, craftingmad!

Since my last visit I've made 4 general cards, 3 baby cards and a sympathy card. I am STILL using my hunkydory stuff (somehow it's been breeding again; I've no idea how!).

Here are my January creations -

I'm loving all of the cards. I need to find some motivation...

I've tried to log on form my lap top today to update totals etc but I'm apparently locked out for 15 minutes. This seemed to be the case for nearly an hour so I'll revisit this later today when I've done some housework. Haha.

My stash has been getting bigger too. My mother in law is downsizing. It's nice in one way but starting to fill up space in my house I've been trying to de-clutter myself....

I've not counted my total for a bit but will update tonight.

Managed to change my password again - don't know whats going on with it all...

I've managed to use up or complete 45 items so far... I still have masses to finish. I'm desperately trying to save for a new house - but i also need to downsize as we're lucky to rent somewhere quite large... I need to find a way to be really harsh with myself and to get rid of some of the stuff that i'm never going to use. I have these dreams about the stuff i could sell on at a car boot or fleabay but i also think i need to admit i'm never going to find the time to actually get round to it...

    Good luck to you all.

    Hi everyone,

I can only sympathise with the stash growing as I have done this on many occasions! I am so surprised with myself as I had to order something online from The Works yesterday and filled my virtual basket with lots of crafting goodies but managed to stop myself and remove them all before checking out I think my body and brain must have been taken over by aliens as its just not like me at all!

I'm declaring another make towards my total today as I've just finished a birthday card for a customer So I'm now at 71/700 so can officially say I'm over 10% of my target now

Happy Snow Day everyone. I'm now freezing cold fter being outside for most of the day playing wit my two kids. We've made a snowman, snow angels and lots of snowballs - do they count towards my total?

I have managed to make an angel keyring today though for an order so am declaring a further 1 items towards my goal. Now at 72/700

Wish the snow & ice would go away now.
I'm getting bored and been looking online at lovely craft supplies. I NEED to buy some! I have managed to stop myself for now but can't guarantee for how much longer!

Think I'm going to spend the day making things to take my mind of the need to buy!

Hope everyone is keeping warm and safe

You haven't scared me away, just still haven't finished my first project. A combination of too tired to move and poorliness, now over.
I did do a few sqares yesterday with friends. We started a crochet club late last year. We are still calling it that but one of us was knitting and another whittling. All good though

Glad to hear I've not scared you off bit by bit. Hope you feel better soon x

I've actually got my bottom into gear and made another 68 items today. All friendship seed packs for orders but at least I have made them.
Got a few more things I also have to make for orders I'm working on but none of them are finished yet. Hopefully will be able to declare these very soon

So my total is now 142/400 - that over 20% towards my total and still no craft supplies buying in almost two months
