    Good morning everyone,

I hope you're all ok on this most glorious of days!

It's unbearably hot here already - I'm getting fed up with
    the heatwave now.

Looking forward to a decent thunderstorm to clear the air
    and green up the land!

Hope you had a lovely evening yesterday sheils - can't
believe that your DD has finished her second year already!
    Where has the time gone?!

Sounds as if you have a fairly busy afternoon/evening
leanfun - have a brilliant time at the musical later on today,
I'm sure your GS will do you proud!

Hope you enjoy your BBQ this weekend rose, it's certainly
    perfect weather!

Have a lovely & lucky Saturday all & please take care
    whatever your plans.

    Hope everyone is well.
Still really sunny here too Alfie - thinking of going out to lie in it!
Had a lovely time catching up with DD. She is so chuffed with how her course is going and got a glowing placement report. She was in a locked ward with quite serious patients (all sectioned) and seemed to enjoy it!
She thinks that might be the type of ward she would like to work in.
Anyway, she has 7 weeks off to earn some extra money and have a little break with the family for Dh's 70th at the end of August.

Heading off to Liverpool area tomorrow and then Blackpool but I should be able to pop in occaisonally.
    Wishing everyone lots of luck.

    Good morning everyone

Phew! No surprise - yet another extremely warm start to the
    day here.

It seems that we have a local arsonist who thinks it's both
'clever/amusing' to purposely set fire to parts of our beautiful
forest heathland! God only knows what sort of mindset
these morons have! It makes me so angry!

    Apologies for rant!

Have a wonderful break in Liverpool & Blackpool sheils. Your
daughter has done incredibly well - you must be so proud
    of her achievements.

I'm really into the footie now, can you tell?

Absolutely thrilled that England got through yesterday!
I even watched the Russia vs Croatia match in the evening
to see which team would be playing against England on
Wednesday ....... & Croatia it is.

Well must crack on - have a lovely Sunday all and please
    take care whatever your plans.

Morning. Feels a bit cooler here this morning. Friday was too hot for DH. We decided not to go to the GSs musical which was a shame but when they came back DD said he had done very well. She has ordered a DVD so we will be able to see that. He stayed the night and has had a lie in this morning.

Like you Alfie it was just too hot. We just sat and watched the football with DS. Well done England.

Sorry to hear about your local fire Alfie.

Sheils you must be so proud of your DD. My mother did the same work all those years ago and you have to wonder how they manage it. Well done to her. Hope she has a bit of rest now. Hope you enjoy Blackpool and Liverpool.

    Take care in this heat.

Hi Indie it has been the same here yesterday and today. We were awake and up early but I still have not been able to do much due to this heat. Only thing that works is getting the washing dry really quickly now have a large pile of ironing.

It had been so difficult here re main meals. DH and DS dont eat salads. So far have managed not to put oven on but it is proving difficult.

I expect we will all have entered lots of comps. So let us hope we will be lucky.

Take care. I am hopeless at drinking lots of water but do keep trying.

    Good morning everyone

It's unbearably hot here too - took myself off to a fairly local
village this morning & lingered longer then usual in Waitrose,
    the air-conditioning was pure bliss!

Back home now & got all the windows and doors open but it
doesn't seem to do much at all. Can't wait until we have a
decent thunderstorm, will be out prancing around the garden
& rejoicing to the rain gods!

Must be fairly hard for you leanfun with DH and DS not
eating salads in this stifling weather, although you're doing
    brilliantly well up to now!

I'm living on salads at the moment - plus a bit of quiche too.
Managed to stock up with cuc/beetroot etc this morning -
also treated myself to a cheeky bottle of wine for this week's
    match!

Really looking forward to 'waistcoat Wednesday' and will be
cheering our lads on big time.

Have a lovely relaxing week off work indie. I don't think I'll
be doing much for the rest of the day - another day of comping
me thinks! Lol leanfun, I don't think I've been so up to date
with the comps as I am now!

Have a lovely Monday all and please take care whatever your
    plans.

I don't like water either leanfun but have been coming in from work and having a glassful. My son looks at me strange and knows i am hot if i drink it.We have air con in the dining rooms and longes at work but there is a lady who complains every time we turn it on and we have to turn it off. We offer her a cardi and blanket but she refuses. so everyone in the room suffers because of her.Sometimes i have to bite my tongue from saying what i want to,lol. Never mind i shall be having my fan on full whilst this weather lasts at home.

Ho Alfie we were snap today. We drove to Biggin Hill so air con in car. We then had a coffee and sandwich in Waitrosecafe. We did not need much shopping but walked around a near empty store at the slowest pace ever. Been home about an hour but still feel cool from all the air con. Found some quiche for dinner tonight.

Indie you are good not to say something to the lady who doesn!!!8217;t like air con on. Do hope you have a rest this week.

Morning, it was a little cooler last night so i got some sleep. Came down and sons asleep on sofa so he must have been hot upstairs.
I use to go to the Biggin hill air show when i was a kid, great day out.I have the taxi run today ( as i call it). Take sons GF to dockyard for her voluntary job, helping build boats then got vets at 10. Then take son to his hobby shop just after lunch then pick them up tonight. At least the afternoon is free. I may start painting the fence is it stays cooler. They did say it should be around 23 today. Hope you all have a lucky day.

    Good morning everyone

It's another sunny/warm start to the day here
although seems slightly less muggy/humid outside - still
    stifling indoors though!

Spent ages yesterday evening trotting back & forth with
my watering can, giving many of my (wilting/dying) plants
a much needed drink. Even well established shrubs such as
my beautiful butterfly bushes have started to shrivel up!
Could really do with some rain now.

We have two glorious events to celebrate today!

Definitely cooler here today. Had both windows open over night woke up feeling chilly and snivels.

You are certainly busy this morning Indie. Wish you luck fence painting.
The old air base is now closed at Biggin Hill. Used to love driving passed the old planes at entrance. We had not been over there for a while so saw a difference.

Thanks for links Alfie. Love Dont step on a bee.

Dreaded ironing awaits. Only dreaded because there is such a pile of it.

Hope everyone has a good and lucky day.

Alfie..Do you know someone in Military wives or just champion them? Two for my first cousins have parade marched for the royal weddings , lot of military on my aunts side. I can't belieive the idiots setting fire up there on purpose, uncle is a bush fire fireman in Auss, The stuff he sees with the animals is so sad, peoples houses lost

Leanfun ..argh what do you do for food, mine youngest isn't keen on most salad but happy to eat iceberg and cucumber so that's something, It's too hot to cook and eat! At least it's cooled down now.

Water ..? I'm lucky I love it delish! That said I hate my mums ..it tastes chalky! Plus it's free..well almost as I'm on a water meter not sparkling though that's just the devils work

I have managed to damage my toe nail it's almost all the way off, thankfully day 3 so not so bad, how did I do this?..I walked into the wall as I had changed my bedroom round and i'n the dark forgot about it. Makes me realise how much careful we have to be with people with sight issues.

Definatly cooler here and so I feel more pro-active, given a chance I would sit round in my pants all day but not really a done thing!
Washing on line , now time for a brew and family meeting time , planning what to do in the hols that doesn't cost a bomb. Have a great day all keep well xx

    Good morning everyone

I hope you're all ok on this most glorious of days!

    It's Waistcoat Wednesday today .....

    https://bloodwise.org.uk/fundraising/campaigns/waistcoat

    COME ON ENGLAND!

I thought the RAF100 centenary was absolutely spectacular
yesterday, felt extremely proud to be British.

My daughter is married to a military chap mummy2, a lovely
RAF pilot & she's a member of the Military Wives Choir attatched
    to his squadron.

I'm like you - love a good drink of tap water! Lol about
    sparkling water being devil's work!

    Ouch re. your toe!

It's a little bit fresher outside today but the house is still
stifling, especially upstairs. Although having said that, I did
manage to get a fairly decent night's sleep in the end. Seems
as if it's going to become warmer again over the next couple
    of days. Sigh.

Did you manage to get the dreaded pile of ironing done in the
end leanfun? It's always last on my 'to do' list, especially
    in this sort of heat!

Have a lovely and lucky day all & please take care whatever
    your plans.

    Morning all,

Just popped in to say we are having a lovely break although been feeling the heat as no air conditioning in our hotel room. Never thought to check that before I booked, in March!
Have done a lot of canal walking and been to Blackpool Zoo.
Going to see "Titanic the Musical" this afternoon. That is all my Ticketmaster wins spent now so got my fingers crossed for a win on Ribena comp to get some more. Will be heading home tomorrow for a few days.

Hope everyone has a lucky day.
