Up early today to take car in . Thanks FF. There is nothing wrong with car but Mitsubishi have recalled it over some safety issue with catches on doors and boot or something like that. Real pain to have to take it in as could take 3 hrs. DH doesn't want to hang about himself in town so I am going too.
Glad your snow and ice has melted FF and hope everone elses has too.
    Must get on.
Hope everyone has a lucky day.

Good morning & happy Saint Piran’s Day to all

So pleased that the snow is disappearing for quite a few
now - had a video chat yesterday evening with my daughter
and amazingly their snow had been melting too - the only
snowy thing left in the garden was the snowman's body!
Apparently little granddaughter had knocked his head off
    earlier on!

I had a chat with my neighbour yesterday and we both
agreed that we couldn't actually recall a time when it had
been so cold down here in Hants as it's been of late. Brrrrr.

Have a lovely time in Dumfries sheils and hope they manage
to sort out the door catch safety issues on your car.

Many happy returns indie - have a brilliant day! xxx

Very well done on your Goodreads win leanfun - excellent
    prize!

    Does anyone like/buy Spam here?

    It's SPAM® Appreciation Week and they're running a comp
which amazingly I managed to post in the Competition Time
thread (link below) keeping everything crossed that it hadn't
    already been posted!

    Good Morning,

Thank you ladies. looking forward to a lazy day with no cooking.
DH got menu planned for breakfast and lunch - porridge with raspberries and a lovely tomatoey veg soup he makes for lunch with home made bread. DD's bf supplying dinner - fish and chips! Plenty of bubbly in fridge too (As DH says, it is my Heinz birthday )
Car seemed to take ages yesterday and since we didn't know of any problems don't see any difference! We did manage a lovely walk along the River Nith while we were waiting though and got some shopping at Aldi on the way home so all stocked up now.
Felt as if we had done a hard days work when we finally got home.
Hope everyone has a lovely, lucky day.

Morning Sunny here too this morning.

Indie please to hear your day ended well and you had a great birthday evening.

Shells happy Birthday. Your meals sound great today especially as you have no cooking. Hope you have a wonderful day. Know what you mean hanging about waiting can be very tiring.

Alfie its a no from me to spam. Well done on posting comp.

Yesterday I had another WEM book win from here for a children!!!8217;s book
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=5777615&highlight=mumsnet
Really pleased with this for GD.

Firefly its great to look out and see the sun. There are still people suffering from after effects of last weeks weather. I collected GS from childminders yesterday and they were without electricity for a day last week and now they have a generator in the neighbouring road. The electricity is being fixed this week.

Hope everyone has a good day. Be lucky.

    Good Morning,

Thanks everyone, had a lovely birthday with lots of presents. DD got me walking boots which I had been considering for a while so really pleased with them. DH wanting a pair now! Had a lovely fish and chip meal and DD's bf sent me up a Banoffee pie too (Quite a lot of Prosecco was consumed!) Not long until Mother's Day.........
Looks like it will be a nice enough day here. Poor DS2 and 3 had more snow yesterday and DS3 says he still can't buy a loaf or anything in Auchterarder. Saw some parts of Cumbria are still cut off. Must be terrible.

Well done on your book wins Leanfun.

    Good luck to all.

Thanks all re books. Agree with you Firefly about books. Used to read to Gks lots when they were little now its bedtime story when the American Gas come and they usually fall asleep.

Sheils sounds as though you had a great birthday. Saw on news about more snow in Scotland. Sorry for your DSs and the people in the bad snow. We are fine but there are people in London without water. Must be hard.

Well yesterday the internet kept coming and going mostly going. I began to think this laptop needed clearing up. I still haven’t been to Apple Store to sort iPad. In frustration I cleared history and that gave even more problems trying to remember pass words DH did some tests through Virgin Media and eventually it was working but it still keeps going off though on at the moment maybe sorted.

Alfie yesterday I found out that this week is pie week 5th to 11th March. I found a web competition on Pukka Pies and was going to post it but what with the internet coming and going.
