Slimming Through The Winter - Slimming World Support Thread 2018 31st Dec 17 at 4:01 PM
Shiny new thread, with all the info carried over as follows:-

Slimming World and Food Optimising is a plan for life, it's not a quick fix and you should look at weight losses over a period of time. There are no prizes for speed of weight loss.

You need to commit to making changes to the food that you buy and how you cook it, because what you've been doing in the past hasn't got you to where you want to be.

You can't use parts of the plan that suit you and forget the rest.

If you are not prepared to make a commitment to change the behaviour that has got you into your current situation then nothing is going to change, and above all things, you need to be honest and accountable for every single mouthful of food that passes your lips.

You need to care enough to take time out to pre-plan your slimming campaign. Look again at the menu plans and see the variety and volume of food you can eat. All you have to lose is the weight.

Slimming World has been successfully helping people lose weight for over forty years, so trust them and read your Food Optimising books again and again.

Food Optimising is easy but life isn't. Losing weight is a battle but you have the battle plan in your food optimising book, your secret weapon is free food, and that, together with your healthy extras and syns add up to a healthy way of eating that can (and should) be a life plan. Success is there waiting for youÖÖÖgo for it!

If you fancy having a go at EE, here are the official 'rules' to ensure that you not only lose weight regularly but get all the nutrition your body needs to function well:-

    Extra Easy:

    1: Choose your Free Food

Most of the food you eat should come from the free foods list Ė so thatís pasta, rice, potatoes, lean meat, poultry, fish, fruit and vegetables.

And for super-fast, super healthy results, fill one third of your plate with Speed Foods!

    2: Choose your Healthy Extras

Each day select one Healthy Extra Ďaí choice and one Healthy Extra Ďbí choice from our simplified list of calcium and fibre-filled foods, including milk, cheese, bread, nuts and cereal.

3: Enjoy 5-15 Syns each day

    -------------------------------------------------------------

If you find your weight loss has slowed down or stopped, check:-

    1. Whether everything you're counting as Free, is Free

    2. Whether you're under-estimating Syn values (over-estimate if guessing)

    3. Whether you're counting everything that should be counted

    4. Whether you're measuring everything that should be measured

    5. Whether you're sabotaging your success in any other way (using SAS logs will help uncover individual long-term self-sabotage patterns) and, if none of these is the culprit, either...........

A: increase the proportion of Speed Foods to half of your plate
B: switch to more Speed Foods

    or

C: try Extra Easy SP - details are on this link - https://www.minimins.com/threads/extra-easy-sp-plan.348340/

And above all, if you follow the plan, any plan, 100% you will lose weight!

Remember we are all here to support each other, and to have fun, and to share in any little disappointments.

Does anyone know about what happens if you take holidays in the middle of a countdown? I am ill so took off this week and next week. Will the countdown be extended for two weeks?

Dont believe it. The 40mph winds have gone and we havent had snow since Saturday a.m. Thought it was all over and didnt believe the forecast of snow this morning. Well sure enough its chucking it down!Does look rather wet ,perhaps it wont lie,but as we have six inches of the nasty stuff already thats not much comfort!

Itís raining here as well - ruddy typical as I spent 2.5 hours trying to clear the road out of the estate. Ah well more body magic I suppose!

Had a Chinese last night as our son stayed over - & do you know what I really didnít enjoy it. Had a bacon roll as well this morning & didnít enjoy that either.

Will be forced to go swimming this week as hubby is in the middle of redoing the bathroom so now will need to go to the leisure centre to have a shower lol

SW Head Office have said that you won't lose out for last week because of the weather so you should only lose one week of your countdown due to illness, however this week's will be lost.

In the excitement of OH asking if I wanted to go out for breakfast - this morning I forgot to get weighed... given I have eaten my weight in bacon, poached eggs, beans, Toms, and Quorn sausages..... and drunk litres of tea I daren't get on the scales until the morning!

Hello, hope everyone is having a good Sunday.

Well done MRS R on finding lovely new clothes in small sizes, what a great feeling

For the next challenge Iíd like to try for 8 lbs please KATHRYNHA

I havenít yet decided on a final target for myself because Iím sort of seeing what feels right along this SW journey. I think Iím pretty close though, especially if I do well on this next challenge.

Keep going everyone, make the best choices you can and if it all goes wrong, donít be too hard on yourselves, just get back on it xx

    Well done losers!

Snow all gone here and it's a balmy 10 degrees. Got a brisk hour's walk in for some Body Magic. I went to Aldi and did my shopping. I managed to get everything I needed except I had to make do with skimmed milk and medium eggs. The stock of fruit and veg was amazing. Well done Aldi!

    Today's EE plan :
B: NAS grapefruit, baked beans, half HEB, HEA milk
L: veggie omelette with pickled cabbage
D: lamb, SW roasties, BNS and lots more Speed
Syns: HM gravy 4, Parmesan 1, gin??

I lost 3lb this week and got joint slimmer of the week with two other people. I was only aiming to lose 1.5lb in order to earn my half stone award.

I ate a bit over my syns today - probably had about 20-25...and tomorrow I'm doing Valentine's Day. Hopefully I can make it up over the course of the week and not gain anything back.

    Thanks for all the welcomes.
Everyone's so motivated - so I'm hoping it'll rub off
My book is about a year old, hardly used - I don't get on well with the groups.
I haven't been counting today, but went through the cupboards and wrote syn counts on all the things I could find. This worked well when I decided to start back on this path at the beginning of the year.

Made an SW quiche (no pastry lots of veggies, cottage cheese as the main ingredient ) and a pie (thin pastry lid works out to 3 syns per portion) today with left overs from the Sunday Roast.
My biggest problem is the snack-attack mood that hits after 7pm and the crash post gym sessions.

Is a small glass of wine still 7syns?
