    misstara's debt diary 2018 30th Dec 17 at 11:01 PM
Almost 4 years ago I started a debt free diary called misstara's debt diary 2014. At that time I was over 10,000 in debt which was paid off earlier this year . I've decided to start a new diary as I've run up new debt although this time due to moving into a new flat that had to be furnished and buying a car.

The current debt stands at 1229.67 flat debt, 748.10 initial car debt (deposit and insurance) and 8663.38 car (split into 58 monthly payments of 146.82 and a final payment of 147.82) which adds up to a whopping 10641.15 it's actually more than my original debt

This year, I feel like I've got out of some of the MSE habits that I'd picked up so need to properly get back into meal planning, budgeting my pay (I still do this but then am not so strict with following it), making mini payments to the debt, NSDs etc.

Going to head to bed shortly but the plan for tomorrow is make a budget for January, look at days where I could possibly work for 2nd job so I can phone them when they reopen on Wed (I've not worked a shift for them for ages but it will be good to get some extra cash) and make a meal plan for next week.

So the lie in didn't really happen got up about 15 minutes later than I usually do if I'm on an early shift.

3 bank account went in this morning so I've paid it to the debt. Hoping for a NSD today.

Didn't manage a NSD as OH needed milk and I also got a deodorant and some jelly pots - 6.20 spent. Went for the run this morning and ran a bit further than usual even in the heat. We've got a 10k at the end of the month so trying to work up to that.

Payday from 2nd job and got 36.23 so 14.50 to car fund, 14.50 to clothes fund and 7.23 debt repayment.

Had a nice evening with OH, went for a wee walk and then to the local pub for a drink and some chips to share . Spent 7.13 which will come out of the social fund. Came home and watched a film together.

Supposed to be my weekend off but working overtime at my job. Not really in the mood for it but the extra money always comes in handy

Had a fairly lazy morning about the flat, pulled up the first tatties and onions from the garden so will incorporate them into tea tomorrow night

Today will be a spend day as I'm meeting my gran for lunch and also need to buy contact lens solution. Then off to work for a late shift. I'm going to park at work as it's fairly central and then walk into town to meet my gran saving a few s on parking

Very quick post as I'm up past my bedtime Another NSD but I've now totally ran out of contact lens solution so must get that tomorrow. Went out for a run this evening with my friend, it's only 3 weeks until the 10k.

Spendy day today - 25.45 on food, 5.50 on contact lens solution and eye drops plus 12.25 on new keys and key chain. OH managed to lose his keys, our next door neighbour has a spare set so at least he was able to get in without having to traipse up to my work to get my set. Got 2 new keys for 10 (just in case he loses them again) plus a key chain for 2.25 to hopefully prevent this. Took money out of the emergency fund for this. Decided to try some cheaper eye drops, 2.50 rather than the usual 10ish so will see how I get on with those.

Had an email today asking for meter readings so have submitted them. Such a faff getting to the electricity meter but don't want to be caught out with a huge bill like last time.

Had pork chops for tea with tatties from the garden very yummy. I've added 3.50 to the car fund so now at 200

Quick post before bed, really need to start going earlier, no wonder I'm always tired . Was on a late shift today so went for a run this morning, did 7k . It's been a NSD.

Managed to pick up a shift with 2nd job for next week and there's a possibility of one this week too. I let them know I couldn't do the full shift offered as the shift starts at 2 and I don't finish my usual job until 4 so they're going to see if that would be ok and get back to me.

2nd job got back to me today and said it's ok for me to go to the shift after usual job :) so that will be 25ish next Friday. They also offered me another short shift for next week so that will be 50ish the week after.

Really been struggling with motivation to do anything round for the flat for the last week or so, this evening I set a timer on my phone for 20 minutes at a time and just did a little bit - all the recycling is now in the bin outside, kitchen and bathroom have been cleaned and I've dusted in the living room.

OH is really not well tonight - tired, muddled and balance issues so he went to bed about 2 hours ago. Hopefully he'll be feeling better in the morning.

Got an email about the electricity bill today and it came to 134.13, much more manageable than last time. I had 110 saved towards it, have paid the rest from the usual bills account and will pay it back from my wages from 2nd job. A direct debit went out today as well so rounded down the bank account and paid 3.27 to the debt.

    Thanks INOD, I will try

So far this morning, I've had a nice wee lie in and pottered about in the garden. Just relaxing with a coffee and then will head out shortly to pick up a few bits from the supermarket and get some petrol.

A direct debit went out today so rounded down my account and paid 2.02 to the debt

Spent 21.09 on petrol and 25.60 on food and cleaning products. Sat and watched a film with OH in the afternoon and went round to my gran's in the evening. My parents are up visiting her at the moment so it was lovely to see them and I came home with a bag full of produce from their garden, eggs and jam

Another NSD . Went out for a run after work with my friend - we did 8.5k. The 10k is 2 weeks away so nearly there. Best get off to bed as start at 7am and then doing a shift for 2nd job after my work so a long day to look forward to. Never mind, the extra money makes it worthwhile
