    2018 Benbenandme's Next Battle 29th Dec 17 at 5:01 PM
Hello It's that time of year for another new diary ... I'm not a newbie, I've been around these parts for years, never quite knowing whether I should be on here or the Mortgage Free boards, but after much consideration I have decided to return here for my next diary installment.

I have previous chapters of my journey on here, but a brief history of my last ten years is as follows: I am a single parent to a 14 year old boy with ASD. I love him to bits, he is my whole world, but causes me a great deal of stress and worry too We have been living in a flat for the last 10 years and I have worked hard to clear my mortgage on it. In March this year we finally moved into a small house, which is lovely, and near my Mum. My brother lent me 30k to help get the house which is my 'debt' that I am paying back. The monthly budgets are stupidly tight, partly as I want to get it paid asap even though he is in no hurry for it back.

Looking further ahead ds is in year ten so only has 18 months until his GCSE's. After this he wants to do an apprenticeship which, from a financial point of view, means my child benefit, tax credits and child maintenance will stop , meaning a drop in total income from approx 1900 to approx 1200 So, this year could potentially be my last one with this extra income, so I need to maximise the potential ...

My next post will list my SOA and my plans for 2018, please stick around for the ride, all help, support and thoughts are appreciated and very much welcome

All the bedding is dry already I'll iron it later while the footie is on then remake the beds. 5th load of washing is now on (towels) The weather is so nice it's drying within an hour or so which is fab.

I've cleaned the front door, outside windowsills and the garage door, all long overdue. I then did a fry up for lunch which was lush and am now settling down for an afternoon of footie with some surveys going on at the same time

Later on when it cools down I am going to take the dog for a walk and do some job spotting as I haven't done too much of that recently.

    Saw the tooth post ouch
Just wanted to say - speak to your dentist about getting retainers to put in at night.
Not only will it prevent this happening again, you won't grind down the tooth enamel.
    Hope it goes well

Finally Bournemouth have assured their place in the premier League for next season

I took the dog out this evening once it had cooled down and did some job spotting, I've just redeemed 8 from that so not a bad walk

I'm thinking about going and getting into bed nice and early with the laptop; both beds have been stripped, washed, dried, ironed and remade today I love a clean bed so might go and have an early night

Yesterday I drove my Mum to her friends, 1.5 hours to get there and 4.5 hours to get home This is the only downside of living right by the beach, the traffic when the weather is nice is hideous

Last night ds and I went to see a Bon Jovi tribute band, it was a great night and my ears are still ringing

Today ds is off to work, I need to go foo shopping then a day in the garden is planned

A lazy day today, done some washing, done a bit of gardening, walked the dog and am generally just lazing about

Later on we're going for a drive as the cruise ship we're going on will be coming into port so we're going to go and have a look

I've bought my sisters birthday present using Amazon vouchers so will transfer the relevant amount from my gift fund.

Oh my, the ship was utterly amazing ... we parked on the top floor of Ikeas car park, and had to wait literally two minutes and the ship was coming along, it had two boats in front of it making an archway with water cannons as it approached, it was huge and we are so so so excited now 12 weeks to go!!

I've done 8,000 of todays steps already, the dog and I went for a nice early walk down the beach before it gets too busy down there.

Today will be spent pottering, a bit of housework, a bit of housework at Mums too, I need to do a Tesco order online and then the last footie day of the season.

Another week done, another 5 redeemed tonight from swagbucks.
Ds is off to his Dads in the morning, I have absolutely nothing planned for this weekend, I've done quite a bit of the housework tonight so it should be a fairly relaxed weekend (first load of washing done, bathroom cleaned, downstairs loo and hall cleaned, fridge emptied out, all rubbish and recycling out, my bedroom cleaned, dishwasher loaded and on, plants watered).

Tomorrow I plan on watching the wedding, then pottering for a while doing some more jobs (clean the car inside and out, more washing, hoover through, dust the lounge, clean the kitchen and conservatory). Then I might do some job spotting and walk the dog at the same time and I also need to do a food shop at some point.

We only have one more week until half-term so anything major can wait until then. This is my first weekend of no football (not really bothered about the FA cup final these days), so will feel strange.
