    !!!8216;Rockin' around the Christmas tree
    At the Christmas party hop

    Every couple tries to stop

    Rockin' around the Christmas tree
    Let the Christmas spirit ring
Later we'll have some pumpkin pie
    And we'll do some caroling!!!8217;

Hello and welcome to the 7th Christmas Chatter Thread.

It!!!8217;s hard to believe that another year has gone and we are almost at the big event that we have spent so long planning and preparing for! But this thread is about so much more than Christmas but about the whole year with all the ups and downs, as well as the bits in between.

NOTE - For all new people please don't lurk, but come and join in with all the chatter. We are all a little mad (about Christmas!), but not dangerous.

The following posts will be made up of all the links saved from last year with new ones added as we go.
This will hopefully make it easier in October/November when we are all looking for them.

Please let me know if any become out of date or if you would like your birthday added to the list

Thanks to all posters on the previous threads !!!8211; the thread is only a success because of your contributions!

So on that note it is over to you and roll on Christmas 2018!

Evening everyone, I have done it again 12 days since I last came on, I just don't know where the time is going, it just seems to fly. I also haven't really had anything to say that is very interesting to anyone I have got my first mammogram coming up at the end of the month, which I am panicking slightly about. DS left his job today so he is happy, he has a week before starting the new one. I managed to do a bit of baking this week as my fibro hasn't been too bad, but like others are feeling the same, I too am feeling sluggish and so so fat! I have £20 leftover from this months food budget and cant make my mind up whether to put it in my Christmas pot or towards DS and DD2s birthday money, as I have both on the same day its quite a steep month. I hope everyone is well x

VULPIX sorry RL is problematic at the moment I hope it levels itself out pretty quickly. That is a lovely idea of auctioning the cricket bat for charity. I hope you enjoyed your day helping out at the school. I too am an emotional eater but it seems to be every emotion! My last family birthdays are in May too, until Thumper in October so I usually use this time to put money in the Christmas pot

PEPPAPIG I'm so glad you enjoyed the Emmerdale tours and had a lovely weekend. How is DH doing? Yes the lamb was delicious thankyou.

GYD omg that has made me feel sick about the r*t lair (I cant even spell it ewww) I imagine we have loads under sheds and workshops in our garden too.

CLUMSY congratulations on becoming an aunty again

JAKESMUM I'm glad the MRI went smoothly for you

NIC I miss doing easter egg hunts with my kids, this time my DD1 did a treasure hunt for me on Easter Sunday, I had clues around the house then the last one said it was in the oven, I opened it and gasped it was a Pandora box, I was gushing saying you really shouldn't its only easter, opened it and inside was a mini egg (it was April Fools) omg we were in hysterics, then she had taped up with brown parcel tape all of DS easter eggs

04624181 oh my lovely I'm so sorry you are still suffering with your back, I hope you get some news soon

GETTINGTHEREQUICKLY I never touch Studio anymore since I got someone elses order but with my address. Their customer service is awful. My DD2 is going to Krakow soon, with a polish girl she works with, she is really looking forward to it. Sorry about the weight loss plateauing it must be so annoying when you are being good.

TINCAN hello glad you got back on

MRSINVISIBLE ooh I would love to replace my conservatory roof with a tiled one, mine leaks too I have to have a tarpaulin over it......very classy!

CHRISSY glad the insurance is nearly sorted regarding DDs accident, I hope she is much better now

Hi everybody, survived the MRI, wasnt so bad so just have to wait for my results. Lovely day as the sun was gorgeous and we were not at our local hospital so we came home the scenic route. Was beautiful. We also had a quick drive around some areas we are looking to maybe move to. Nothing caught our fancy. Need to start thinking about Christmas but with me being off sick still my wage is virtually 0 at the moment so we have no spare cash. Need to get back to work but they wont let me until they know what it is. My results appt has been delayed by 5 weeks! Radiographer said to ring the specialist in about a week. So frustrating as i love my job and cannot wait to get back in

GTQ- I love studio products but their customer service is not great. I dont have an account anymore because of that. I usually use my friends account if I am desperate for anything.
Tincan- Hi Tin can hope you are ok. good to see you again
Mrs I- Your new conservatory roof sounds exciting, hope you had a great afternoon at the school.
Chrissyg- glad to hear dds insurance is getting sorted out x
Free- i did laugh when i read about your daughters april fool joke.
Vulpix- Hope you are feeling better xx
Peppa- how are you and Mr Peppa doing?

Hi,what lovely weather today. It proper cheers me up.

Free your daughter did a great April fool there, hahaha. Now,I know you don't enjoy going to the Drs and the like but a mammogram is nothing at all.The people doing it have seen it all and are very professional. It always amazes me how they apologise for the discomfort. Some people must make a big fuss.It is firm pressure and thats the worst of it ,honest. I had my first mammogram 2 days after we came back from honeymoon, and thank goodness I went.I didn't want to because I wanted to do loads of laundry! within a week I was at the hospital on the breast cancer treatment road. Bloomin fantastic service. So,ALL OF YOU don't miss an appointment. I didn't feel ill or have any symptoms.Better safe than sorry.

0462 I hope you get back to work soon, and fingers crossed that the scan results lead to something for you.I am going to go into school every Monday.I still have my mojo!

I am still strict with the diet.I am determined atm.Join in with me Free,we can do it together.

    Wheres Murie?

Vulpix- I am here, just not had much to say (and a bad dose of cba!) so haven't posted.
Glad to see everyone is Ok (ish).
The weather was lovely yesterday but so far today its not looking so good. I planted some columnar fruit trees last week and am hoping they take , although at the moment they just look like sticks in the ground! I have an apple pear cherry and damson and I planted them up against a wall that has trellis on so they have plenty of support (not that they should need it). Has anyone grown any of these? I was going to put them in pots as that's what they are designed for (apparently) but then decided against that and planted them in the ground. Any advice would be welcome x.
For anyone that remembers my issues with the pizza oven that I brought DS a few Christmases ago (namely the number of stubbed toes I had walking into the blooming thing for 4 months cus I couldn't store it anywhere!), I've seen that Aldi have one that goes on sale today, its £40. DS love his (its designed to be used on a BBQ) and I have to say it does make really good pizzas in mega quick time once its got to temp. The one at Aldi seems exactly the same as the one I got DS so if anyone has a summer birthday for anyone who loves their BBQ it would make a fab present.

Me too, need to lose about 10lbs. lost 2 of them last week, but they found me again this.
Yes, go for your mammogram, it is more than 14 years since l had to have a double mastectomy, thats how important it is. and in those years l have seen 2 of the kids married, 3 grandnibs, got my degree, and lived every minute.
Did an hour tidying up in the garden yesterday, but whilst adding pansies to a spring tub, l found that l had the dreaded vine weevil grubs in the pot, so l will have to clear them all out, get rid of all my lovely fuschias, and start again next year. Bu@@er it.
Microsoft edge isnt working so l have used google chrome, and my favourites icon is absent, so l must get my little guru up to fix it. (fave cous's soon to be DDIL) she is so computer savvy it hurts.
Nothing new christmassy but l hace started to clear out cupboards and drawers to make space for when l get mojo'd

Hope everyone is ok, nothing has happened with my situation if anything its getting worse. Im back sleeping at my parents lounge floor on an air bed and going back to mine during day. But they say my benefits are ok, doesnt stop someone ( one of bullies was bragging about it) reporting me for benefit Fraud. It was shut down as the relevant people know about my situation but still it was awful to hear someone hates me that much.

Anyways trying to stay positive Im doing a complementary healing course.

I got a box of Turkish delight in Marks and Sparks for 75p the date on back said June 2020 so thats been put in a newly cleaned Christmas cupboard.

Free, I'm with everyone else on the mammogram. I had a routine one 18 months ago and they were not happy with it, called back a few times for various tests (each dependent on previous result), but they finally gave me the all clear, eventually decided it was scarring from previous lumpectomy. To save me going through the stress in future, they have inserted a marker clip where the scarring is, so it can be ignored.

0462 /FREE were ok thank you, Mr P is still skinny but at least eating properly now. Unfortunately I!!!8217;m still eating everything in sight! I!!!8217;m really hoping my appetite will drop when we get some sunshine.

FREE good job you can take a practical joke.

GTQ I!!!8217;m another one who doesn!!!8217;t order from Studio any more although I must admit I!!!8217;m not 100% sure why now because it!!!8217;s been a while .

Wasn!!!8217;t the weather good yesterday? A bit overcast again here today but at least it isn!!!8217;t raining. We had a good day in the garden yesterday and the little birds seem to have finally decided to eat from the bird feeder so I!!!8217;m happy.

I agree about the mammograms too. MRSINVIS and VULPIX you!!!8217;re the real life proof that it!!!8217;s worth it. I find them pretty uncomfortable but once I!!!8216;ve assured myself that nothing is actually going to burst I!!!8217;m fine. It!!!8217;s funny really because if you squashed yourself like that outside of a mammogram you!!!8217;d be scared you!!!8217;d damaged something. .

I!!!8217;ve found my thoughts turning to Christmas a few times recently but I!!!8217;m trying to resist because I want to try and live in the moment a bit more and plan ahead a bit less. I!!!8217;m determined that I won!!!8217;t do any hampers this year though. I do them because I really enjoy it but if I!!!8217;m honest I!!!8217;m not sure the recipients get as much out of it as I do so I!!!8217;m going to go cold turkey this year and not do any. Did you see the festive reference to turkey there? I!!!8217;m sticking to saving every month in my Christmas and Birthdays envelope so hopefully will be able to fund all the pressie buying and extra costs from that. I!!!8216;ll still shop for Christmas by the end of November though so I can just enjoy December and the run up to the festivities.

SORRY FOLKS, I HAVE NO IDEA WHY ALL THE APOSTROPHES IN THIS HAVE BEEN CHANGED TO !!!8217 BUT IT WONT LET ME CHANGE THEM BACK SO I SHALL GIVE UP TRYING.

Afternoon all, hope you are all doing ok. We had such a lovely spring day yesterday and today it is back to pouring rain

Did anyone go to the M&S sale? I went the other day (before they dropped it all to 90% off) and was still pleased with the few bargains I picked up.

Nothing Christmassy done here yet but will soon start to pick up a few little things. I did pick up some prosecco toppers from work cheaply which will be added to a couple of birthday presents. Still saving my pennies every month though so the Christmas funds are there when we see things.

Should be joining most of you in losing some weight but no matter how good I am it always seems to stay static - besides we still have Easter chocolate in the house as we paid a trip to our favourite chocolate shop on a day out and ended up buying some of their homemade mini chocolate eggs.

    Evening my christmassy lovelies

I am another one who is joining the weight loss train. I am still in the 'healthy' section according to the NHS chart thingy but very much on the higher end of it so need to do something before I get any bigger DH said 'ooo i'll join you!' (he is very much past the 'healthy' section ) and then went out today with DS and went to Maccy D's! so obviously no support from him at all then!
We are planning a holiday next year and want to take my mum with us and I refuse to feel uncomfortable in my clothes while we are there. Ideally would like to lose a stone which would fit me comfortably back in my clothes so hopefully now i've told you all I will leave the biscuits and cake alone as I won't want to come back and tell you all I failed (DS and My birthdays are both next month so obviously the cake bit does not include birthday cake but i will not buy any other cake from the supermarket!)

Ooo Free, your cheeky daughter, but that is funny

Sorry Murie, I am a complete plant killer so am no help to you with your flowers (doesn't stop my mother leaving me in charge of her house plants every holiday . . hasn't been a year go by that I haven't almost killed them )

Took DD to her karate class' National championships yesterday, she didn't take part as she just wanted to see what it was like before she signed up to participate in one (she's very self concious and shy) she has now decided she would like to attend the next one (3 hrs away!) and I said 'ooo good, can daddy and I watch this time? (we are NOT allowed to watch her test as she cries) and she said 'umm nope, you can just drop me off'. No idea what we are suppsed to do for 8 hrs in a strange town 3 hrs from home but at least she wants to have a go

Nothing christmassy going on as i've kind of lost the christmas mojo, all the kiddies in my family are getting older now so it seems to all be cash rather than gifts

Good Morning everyone, I am feeling very hapy with the possibility of the good weather that will hopefully grace us this week. I am going to try and do some decluttering this week whilst hubby is away, we are still waiting to sell the house but I need to start going through the junk that we hoard.

Vulpix- Glad you enjoyed your afternoon in school, that is fantastic that you will be going in on Monday afternoons. I bet the children are really looking forward to it.
Murie- Hi, glad to see you xx I started Keto a week ago! I weighed myself on saturday morning and had lost 9lbs. I know that the first week is a lot of water weight loss but I am so happy. Also don't feel hungry and now the first few days are over i am feeling ok. Will keep going as long as I can as I have stones to lose.
MrsI- i too am having a clear out ready for the christmas/house move.
TreasureQueen- So sorry to hear that things have got so bad that you cannot even stay in your home. It seems so unfair that none of the authorities can do anything to help your situation. I am sending you big hugs xx
Peppapig-Glad to hear you and Mr P are doing well. I am the same with Christmas, I keep thinking about it but with us having the house up for sale I just do not know where we would store things without them being on show. I usually box them up on top of our wardrobes.
Stockiebecks- I missed the M&S sale, is it online, will have a look in a minute x
Jakes-mum- Wishing your DD the best of luck in her competition xx

I am up for the weight challenge x Will keep me motivated x

Hi all! Just popping in to say hello, I thought I was going to have lots of time on my hands after Christmas to post but then we booked the boys Christening and that seemed to take over my spare time! We had the Christening yesterday and it was a really lovely day, it was nice to to catch up with friends and family. We had it in the village hall so I had to do all of the food and decorations myself which took up a lot of my spare time. It's a really ugly village hall too so I had to try really hard to pretty it up a bit! Anyway now it's over I feel like i've got a new lease of life again so hopefully 'see' you soon. xx

    Afternoon everyone

04624181 I hope you get the results a bit quicker than that, it does sound a ridiculously long time. Hopefully it will show what is wrong and you can be fixed pretty quickly. I bet just when you are least expecting it the right house will jump out at you

VULPIX thankyou for sharing your story about the mammogram, I will definitely not miss it. I am thinking of looking at the Keto diet that MURIE is on, will let you know

MURIE I can see my kids liking a pizza oven, they blooming love them. Well done on your fabulous weight loss, I need to have a nosey at this keto diet

MRSINVISIBLE thankyou for sharing your experience as well, it does help when people are worried about these things. I really admire how you live life to the full my lovely

TREASUREQUEEN I just don't know why people have to be so nasty. Just keep your chin up, you are so much better than them

GETTINGTHEREQUICKLY thankyou for sharing, you must have been so worried, I'm so glad it was a positive outcome and it wont happen again

PEPPAPIG that is good news about your DH, hopefully it wont be too long before he gets his strength back and puts some weight back on. The funniest thing was about the Pandora Charm when I was taking it out of the black velvet bag I saw a bit of red and immediately thought it was a Christmas charm for my Christmas bracelet

    STOKIEBECKS what are Prosecco Toppers?

JAKESMUM oh bless your DD, I hope she does really well and it builds her confidence up

PRINCESSKITTY aww I bet you decorated the hall lovely for the christening, glad it all went well

yay, lots of people back posting, great stuff.

Treasure queen, chin up babe. I cannot bear a bully. You will have the last laugh with people like that.

Murie I know the type of trees you mean but I have never had one.I should think they would enjoy being planted in the ground even more so than in a pot. I bought a tree a few weeks ago.I think it is a cherry.Shame on me,I can't remember. I have put it in a big pot as i would like to take it with me if we move again.

Mrs I,are you going down the nematode route ? I hear it is very effective.

jakes mum.I hope your daughter enjoys her karate. kick boxing has done wonders for my youngests self confidence.

stokie. What is this left over Easter chocolate of which you speak? Out of my experience I am afraid.

0462 pretty impressive weight loss,I will look into the keto diet,i have never heard of it.If you saw me you would know that me n diets are not well acquainted.

What were your decorations like PK? I do enjoy a nice craft.

So we all seem to be on the same page with wanting to shift a few pounds.I go for a weigh in on Wednesday,I will let you know how I get on.

The prosecco toppers are some fruit flavoured mixers like these on the link but I bought them for 75p for a pack (dated middle of next year)

    Prosecco Toppers

    Morning all,

Spent yesterday afternoon and this morning making phone calls trying to get an earlier appointment to see the specialist. NO LUCK! so frustrating! Basically I have got to go and get another sick note to cover me until after the appointment. They cannot tell me the results over the phone and no other appointments.
Vulpix- The keto diet is good I weighed myself this morning and have lost another 1lb. Thats 10lb in 8 days. i know it will slow down now but im absolutely thrilled. Im hoping to get my weight down by at least another 2 stone on this and then start to reintroduce carbs. I do not feel hungry and am not craving food yet. I have been up since 6.30am and have not eaten yet. PM me if I can be of any help.
Stokiebecks- They are a nice idea for a gift, thanks for sharing x

Ahh I feel like I can breathe today as Wiggle is back at pre-school and I donít have to do anything for the Christening! My house is a mess though so trying to get it straight and play with Squeak. I found out yesterday that Wiggle got into our first choice school which is good. Our second choice was probably my favourite school but just out of walking distance, it is the same in terms of teaching and Ofsted etc I just got a nice warm feeling when I was there! But Wiggleís school is good and we can walk there which is what we wanted. I just canít believe heís going in September!

vulpix I had bunting (which I didnít make), pompoms which I did, jam jars with ribbons tied around and flowers in, pictures in nice photo frames, balloons which we filled with helium ourselves which was actually really easy and much easier than getting a shop to do it! But we did have a lot to blow up then tie to weights etc! Table sprinkles etc. I didnít do a lot of Ďcraftyí things as such, just a lot of preparing! I also made and decorated all of the cupcakes and main cake.

StokieBecks I have bought some prosecco toppers as one of the presents for my friends birthday, Iím hoping she invites me round for a glass!

04624181 I know I say this every time but even when Iíve spent time away from the thread I still remember your user name by heart! Sorry I have missed a few pages so I donít know what is wrong, I hope you are ok and get some answers soon. Well done on the weight loss, great news! Keep up the good work!

Hey PrincessKitty29- I love that you remember my user name xx Your christening sounds lovely with your description of all the decoartions. When you look back at the Christening photos you can remember how you actually made most of it happen. Something wrong with my foot, its been going on 5 months and I have been unable to go into work. Still awaiting diagnosis.

I am resigning myself to the fact that I have to wait until may for my diagnosis appt. It is frustrating but it is even more frustrating having to keep ringing up and getting nowhere. Have told work, they are being great but they want be back as soon as healthily possible so it is frustrating for us all.

Everybody keeps saying they miss my smile and making everybody laugh x Out of all of this it is nice to know what impact you have in the workplace xx
One of DDs fish died today, its the first one to die and she was actually very grown up about it. No tears x
