Pay ALL your debt off by Xmas 2018

Pay ALL your debt off by Xmas 2018 4th Dec 17 at 4:17 AM
Welcome to PART 1 OF Pay ALL Your Debt Off By Xmas 2018!

Firstly I would like to welcome all new and existing members from last years thread.

Anyone is welcome to join this challenge and it is NEVER too late. There is also no amount of money too small or too large that will stop you from joining this challenge. We have several members who will be on their debt journey for several years to come, but they are part of this thread to pay off a fixed amount of their debt as the support on here is fantastic!
So, if you think you can pay off all your debts by Christmas or have a goal to pay off a certain amount then please join in!

This challenge runs until 27th December 2018.

To help me run this thread easily, could you please all post your totals in large text and in a bold colour and post the amount you have paid off // target amount

It would also be a big help if you could also put with it your challenge number.
i.e. another £50 paid off so now the total paid off for

    #001 is £315.43/£7685.67
By the way, don't worry about working out your % paid as I can do that for you!

    HI,

I'd like to rejoin this challenge. Did it last year but from mid Nov to the beginning of April I had a forum break

    I was #159 last year.

My challenge this year, from this month, is to pay off £7500

    So far 261.22/£7500 = 3.48 %

    MARCH UPDATE

    We paid off £9,530.23
    2018 Total £51422,57
which is 18.74% of our target
We had 5 Members sign up

Just one thing- was your March total for everyone, including newbies like me? It just seems a lot less than the Feb total, especially as my payment alone for March was over £7500 (due to OH's bonus)?

I quickly totted up the "green" paid in 2018 numbers for all members on the updated front page and got very impressive:

    £192,140.81 paid off in 2018
    apologies if I'm missing something?

And another total for those who are interested (you can tell I'm wasting time waiting for my DD!):

The total of everyone's target to be paid off in 2018 i.e. the red numbers is (drumroll):

    £1,039,129.87
    wow!

The front page posts include all the payments made up to when I posted, this will include the 1st 7 days of this month.

I can go and check the spreadsheet to make sure the formulas are all correct, I input the total amounts paid and the spreadsheet does all the calculations for me. This is the reason people are asked to update the way we do.

No worries. I just quickly added up all the green figures on page 1 (updated yesterday) and then I've just added up all the red figures on the updated page one. I'm no good at spreadsheets!

    Thanks Muppets.

And one last statistic (using Muppets' updated red figure of £1,045,883.27):

Of this total target, £245,798.20 'belongs' to DFWers who aren't actually active i.e.haven't actually sent in an update yet so are on 0% paid off.

If we only include 'active' members the new overall target is £800,085.07 and we've paid off (approx.- bearing in mind it's me and my calculator) £192,140.81 that is

24% of target paid off in 2018 so far which is nearly bang on target as we're 25% through the year.

    Yay!!

What I did last year was, at the end of the year, anyone who hadn't updated was to knock them off the spreadsheet. That gave a more accurate figure, until then though I leave them all on and their target is counted. It would be unfair to them to come back 6 months in and not see their figure being counted.

While I appreciate you are trying to help motivate people, it has caused some confusion and I have already received messages asking if you are now running the thread and are confused about the % and target figures.

Ah sorry, I didn't mean to upset you Muppets!
Once I realised the March update figures you had posted didn't look quite right I was just sitting in my car playing around with the numbers and thought I'd share them on here in case anyone was interested. Sorry for any confusion, I didn't mean you should remove the inactive people, I thought it might be useful to also have a figure only counting currently active posters to know we're all on track.

I'm sure that everyone knows I am definitely not running the thread and are grateful for your hard work but I'll make sure I start any other statistical musings with a clear disclaimer in future (though there probably won't be any once your spreadsheet is fixed anyway!).

If others would rather have just the active members figures I can change the spreadsheet so that every month it shows that instead. I just think having 2 figures is confusing for people.

Muppets just to say I don't care how you calculate your stats. I don't care about monthly or diddly said figures only that you put so much hard work in to keep the front page up to date. I'm sure if I was doing it, I'd be crap not letting people join at any point or change their totals of anything even sending daily amounts would stress my head. I'd be a fascist soreadsheet dictator. Well done muppets.
