Pay ALL your debt off by Xmas 2018 4th Dec 17 at 4:17 AM
Welcome to PART 1 OF Pay ALL Your Debt Off By Xmas 2018!

Firstly I would like to welcome all new and existing members from last years thread.

Anyone is welcome to join this challenge and it is NEVER too late. There is also no amount of money too small or too large that will stop you from joining this challenge. We have several members who will be on their debt journey for several years to come, but they are part of this thread to pay off a fixed amount of their debt as the support on here is fantastic!
So, if you think you can pay off all your debts by Christmas or have a goal to pay off a certain amount then please join in!

This challenge runs until 27th December 2018.

To help me run this thread easily, could you please all post your totals in large text and in a bold colour and post the amount you have paid off // target amount

It would also be a big help if you could also put with it your challenge number.
i.e. another 50 paid off so now the total paid off for

    #001 is 315.43/7685.67
By the way, don't worry about working out your % paid as I can do that for you!

I forgot to mention, this month's payment also takes my credit utilisation to under 30%.

Absolutely delighted about that, hoping to see an improvement with my credit history with how I've started the year.

Have now taken my 2.7k savings and earmarked it for difference places. My 1250 in my regular saver is now for debt repayment, so!

    4150 / 10k - 41.5%

I have another 250 going into the saver just before payday and then 100 just after pay day, so by the end of this month will be at 45% gotta keep chugging at it!
19/12/14: Spent 10 years of savings!!
..... to buy my first home.

    2018: 1200 savings --- Family Loan (3250 direct + 2000 saver) 5250/10K paid 52.5%

After a_silver_lining posting, I don't know whether to withdraw 1000 of my 2000 savings and use that for debt repayment... does make sense I guess...

I have an old boiler and an old cat and I know realistically I need a bigger emergency fund before I pay the lump off, probably 3k. So this account gives me a possibility of dipping in. I also have actual savings (the 600 and 795 in my other saving places, which will not be used for the debt)

The reason I have now put the 1250 in the paid debt calculations is that I was getting excited about how much I have saved and I need to stop thinking of it as my money.

    I hope that helps x
