    Saving for Christmas 2018 - £1 a day challenge

    Saving for Christmas 2018 - £1 a day challenge 30th Nov 17 at 4:56 PM
This is the saving for Christmas 2018 - A pound a day challenge

    Back by popular demand

The Aim: To save a £1 a day from 1st December 2017 to 30th November 2018. How you save your £1 doesn't really matter, whether it be a £1 in a tin, an on-line account or anywhere else that suits you.

We will open our tins or have access to our accounts on 1st December 2018 and declare out total amounts saved

Then it's spend, spend, spend for Xmas 2018 on whatever you like.

I've had great success for the last 4 years and use a sealed tin. For 2017 I saved £2 each day instead of £1 and this really does take a lot of the stress out of Christmas, also, I have a great time counting out all my £1 coins at the end.

You soon get into the habit of putting a £1 a day away and just think this time next year you will have a healthy chunk of money towards the expense of Christmas

If you would like to join in pop your name down and I will allocate a number for you.

So come on everyone, decide on where you are going to keep your pounds and let's get saving!

Happy Savings Happy Xmas Happy New Year

I have waiting for my amazon gift cards to arrive (£50) and I will add to my amazon account, so my final total for this year is £165.00 a lot shorter then my target.

£50 - Amazon gift card cash out from surveys
£115 - Amazon gift card balance from Quidco/TopCashback/Shopping apps

Not bad and will definitely help me as I have to be frugal this Christmas as I am now on half pay from work, but great that I dont have to worry about spending my chrismas pay packet on others. This challenge (and the process, has worked out well for me for the last eight years and will continue £1 a day soon adds up)

Mine will come in at £365 but there's more money in the bank account it's going into anyway so that's a bonus. Not as much as there was at the beginning of the year, but it's not empty and that's the main thing! Trying to build it back up but it has been the account that has paid for spending money on trips and things, but then I guess that's the point rather than depleting my everyday account.

I’m going to crack open my piggy bank in the next few days to buy a present in the Black Friday deals. Managed to save #16 £135/£365 and although it’s not the full amount it will definitely help me out. I’ve been doing this a few years now and it’s brilliant not to have debts in January!
Thanks for running the challenge Ellieseleven will definitely sign up for next year. LP x

I'm off to write a Christmas gift list - now I know I've got the cash! I love that for the second year in a row, because of this challenge, I'm not looking at starting the new year with Christmas debt still on my credit card!
