Okay smalls couldn't decide on a takeaway So I cooked the spag bol. Saves disappointment when they can't all choose the same place.

We decided we'd use the money for a day out next weekend. We have bowling Wednesday (although it's a secret yet they don't know ) Maybe trampoline park or softplay we'll see.

The weather is pants today! The dryer has been on all day and I have loads of ironing to catch up on

Hi WannabeFree, you are doing so well!!
Your SOA looks great. We have about the same grocery budget for 2 adults and a 4yr old so you're doing great!
The only thing I can see where you could save more is the satellite TV. Do you really need it or could you substitute it with Netflix or NowTV?
We only use Netflix and BBC iPlayer and honestly don't miss normal TV!
If you do watch it a lot though, then it's worth it, all depends on the things you like to watch - it's ok to allow yourself some luxuries

    Thank you

Morning Monday again! These holidays are going far too quickly I don't want them to have to go back to school

Today's plan is to go and finish the bits (I say bits I think it's around ú50 needed yet) of uniform, need swim kits for the older two and underwear and leggings etc.

Have a cheque to pay into the bank so will do that why I'm in town and will probably go to the museum to fill the afternoon with something a bit more exciting than shopping

    Hope all is well

Okay today didn't go to plan again

We went to Ald! for the food shop. It was really needed so got it done with a list.

We will uniform shop and go into town tomorrow. This weather is really not tempting me out the house

I hate uniform shopping so any excuse not to go and do it is fine in my book xx

Channel 4's pretty good (I know plenty of people that watch that instead of Sky when both are live) and a cheap freeview recorder box if you're out or busy would probably only cost you 1 month's worth of satellite TV. I only do C4 via the aerial because I refuse to pay ridiculous prices for 21 races a year! (and I supplement it with lower series that offer free livestreams)

Failing that, would internet + Now TV day passes for the races be cheaper? Day pass is ú7.99, so at 21 races is less than ú170 for a season. That plus any internet costing ú24 or less a month would cost you less than the satellite TV over 12 months..

Other alternatives for general non-football sport would be internet + Amazon Prime (ú79 for a year) + Eurosport Player (ú4.99 a month), which would give you tennis + Le Mans 24H + superbikes + athletics + cycling. Again, ú140 to get Eurosport, so any internet ú27 or less would be cheaper than the satellite TV.... (no F1 that way, but Prime TV/films would be included).

Great food for thought there WF. A lot of the time F1 is on Freeview. I would just go for Freeview if it wan't for Mr SA,it would save me a fortune.

Thank you I will have a look at all of them tonight.

I have always just watched C4 Highlights/racing until this season. I literally watch the whole 3 days worth now I have it available. Even the 'boring' bits from interviews to pit lane build up etc. However it isn't really worth the cost when it's laid out in black and white I'm going to look into those other options now and still might just consider going back to just the highlights.

Thank you for your help I'd never have known I could get similar elsewhere other than the other big company that's just as expensive.

Thank you SA something I need to wake up and admit it's an expense we don't really need

    Thank you PMO2 x

    Afternoon

We haven't done anything out the house yet waiting for amazon delivery and have baked cakes and biscuits. Girls are playing with the dolls house now. They had the right idea of doing all the good bits of baking then wandering off to the dolls house when it came to cleaning up

Should be a NSD today - unless the takeaway is still pulling me in later

    Hope all is well

I can watch Formula 3 on their Youtube channel and Le Mans on their website and touring cars on ITV4 and rally cars on Channel 5... I'll manage to keep myself busy
