So we went to Costa for free coffees - on the plus side they have finally fixed their till so the receipts print nicely but the staff are still so rude.
The girl said to me no we don't put points on your card if its a free one and I said you always have done and then another staff told her to scan the points card

The new problem with this costa is that it is in a very old building and it has damp under one of the windows. Today because it was warm and muggy inside the damp smell was even worse and you could smell it everywhere - urgh

Then we took the 2 bags of rucksacs and jackets and 2 dragons to the charity shop.
OH said "look they have sold all of the magazines I brought in"
He is convinced and no reasoning will tell him otherwise.
More than likely they are still in store upstairs somewhere and wont come down until there is a space which is going to be sometime never - they wont want 3 huge bag fulls of decades old magazines stacked in a corner somewhere making the shop look trashy..
And even if they did put them on display they wont have had a massive rush to buy tatty old magazines in the last week.
Or they are in a skip already.

We are gift aided so I get emails when something sells and that is not likely to happen anytime soon.

    Good afternoon shipmates

I'm so excited - I posted a pic a couple of months ago of a beautiful dragonfly laying her eggs in my pond.
Well, they have hatched and I can see lots of dragonfly nymphs living amongst the pond plants

Every time I try to de-clutter, I start with my sock drawer, but never get any further
My wardrobe is a mess - including a leather jacket I bought in Turkey and haven't worn for 25+ years

But I have a really neat sock drawer

    Fairfx
    Hello,

A very good day to all... I am one of your lurkers but I haven't been for quite some time except for the time when fairfx was mentioned. I managed to buy the voucher from groupon but I wasn't able to go to fairfx as soon as I should because it asked for identification and I don't have internet access for the last week so it is only now that was I able to go back to their website. The 5 amount you can buy is now upped to 50. I don't mind spending the 20 to get a 50 everywhere card but my worries is can I use the everywhere card everywhere or where can I use the card? Is it an ordinary card like a credit card? Any advise will be very much appreciated - before I purchase Thanks in advance

I got my usual coffee, toastie & muffin at Costalot today, I had 3 Wonton codes, the guy on the till was training, and after I’d scanned two Wonton codes he passed me the receipt, and I left. Thought it odd so looked at the receipt he’d only put the coffee & muffin through.
So I went through the drive thru and got another muffin and a caramel shortcake slice. Yumm!

A woman brought a very limp duck into a veterinary surgeon. As
she laid her pet on the table, the vet pulled out his
stethoscope and listened to the bird's chest.
After a moment or two, the vet
shook his head and sadly said, "I'm sorry, your duck, Cuddles,
    has passed away."
    The distressed woman wailed,
    "Are you sure?"
"Yes, I am sure. Your duck is dead," replied
    the vet..
"How can you be so sure?" she
protested. "I mean you haven't done any testing on him or anything. He might just be in a coma or
    something."
The vet rolled his eyes, turned
around and left the room. He returned a few minutes later
with a black Labrador Retriever. As the duck's owner looked on
in amazement, the dog stood on his hind legs, put his
front paws on the examination table and sniffed the duck from
top to bottom. He then looked up at the vet with sad eyes and
    shook his head.
The vet patted the dog on the
head and took it out of the room. A few minutes later he
returned with a cat. The cat jumped on the table and also
delicately sniffed the bird from head to foot. The cat sat
back on its haunches, shook its head, meowed softly and
    strolled out of the room.
    The vet looked at the
woman and said, "I'm sorry, but as I said, this is most
definitely, 100% certifiably, a dead duck."
The vet turned to his computer terminal, hit a few keys and
produced a bill, which he handed to the woman..
The duck's owner, still in shock, took the bill. "150!" she
cried, "150 just to tell me my duck is dead!"
The vet shrugged, "I'm sorry. If you had just taken my word for it,
the bill would have been 20, but with the Lab Report and the
    Cat Scan, it's now 150."
