Private dental care prices? 11th Oct 17 at 9:47 PM
    Hi all

Does anyone know if the prices you pay for private dental care is per course of treatment or per tooth? As on the NHS itís one price per course of treatment..

On the whole it is fee per item , ie you pay for each item .

However certain plans ,like some of the denplan plans, you pay a monthly fee which covers all work except laboratory fees.

Other plans you pay a monthly fee and check ups, hygiene and x rays are included with a discount off the cost of treatment.

Some treatments will be quoted for inclusive of all costs eg for braces you will normally be quoted for cost of treatment, x Rays, retainers etc.

Dentists will usually estimate the cost for each treatment based on the time, materials used, etc.

The NHS system of three bands for treatment is ludicrous as a dentist gets paid the same for one filling as several fillings and root treatments.
