More good news then, since all I ever read about is the housing crisis in Britain/London due to prices being too high.

Good news for folk trying to move on/up the ladder, bad news for those relying on the prices. Does that mean people have less to spend or just aren't buying?

I don't really have a lot of sympathy for those with price drops in London, looking at the year on year annual growth. Your average Joe has been priced out in most parts for years.

There is no housing problem or crisis in the UK

London is expensive because a lot of London buyers buy with capital not income.

London isn't particularly expensive compared to say Paris.
    https://parispropertygroup.com/blog/2017/paris-real-estate-defying-all-predictions-for-2017/
The more expensive parts of Paris are 12,000 euro/sqmsqm while the cheapest cost 6,500 euro/sqm
That means a 150sqm home would cost 0.975 million euro in the cheapest area and 1.8 million Euro in the expensive areas.

In zone 2 Hackney London a 150sqm terrace costs about £1m so quite similar to the cheaper areas of Paris.

IIRC, during the referendum campaign, George Osborne said that house prices would fall if the vote was for leaving. Maybe that's a reason why the leavers won.
