AVRO Energy false prices advertised 14th Sep 17 at 2:15 PM
Just a heads up so hopefully other people don't have their time wasted by Avro.
I just applied to switch to them based on Martins Energy Club recommendation. They have emailed me today asking for previous energy statements as they thought my energy used figures were to low.
In fact the statements I sent them show I'm using less energy than what I originally quoted them & the energy club!
They came back to me with a quote which was 20 higher than the quote Martins Energy Club gave me & also 20 higher than their website quoted me as part of the sign up process!

So in effect I supplied proof that showed I was using less & they jacked the price up!

    In other words false advertising.

Another heads up on Avro - they are very small and don!!!8217;t know the law. They are blocking us from changing suppliers away from them in our property having just moved in. They say since the previous tenants didn!!!8217;t pay the bill they are applying for a warrant to cut off the supply to the house! We have small children - they don!!!8217;t care! Anyway we!!!8217;ve taken legal advice and raised to the ombudsman just for others considering Avro - please don!!!8217;t! Cheap doesn!!!8217;t always mean good!

I just got a new monthly DD Tariff from Avro Energy- from 24 pcm in November when I joined, to 117.00 - 5 times as much as they had originally estimated. Had I known it would go up this much over the winter months, I would have stuck with BG. What a joke. Can't get through to them due to high volume calling because of their "highly competitive pricing" - really?

Nobody can tell whether AVRO have made a mistake, are being harsh or are just incompetent without more information on your annual energy usage, your current balance and when you started with them.
Of course they may have a point and like many other energy companies don't like big debts being built up.
