Sole Agency Period 9th Sep 17 at 10:36 PM
I'm selling a house and received the contract from the EA today to sign and send back. Something I noticed was that the contract specifies that I can't cancel it until after the Sole Agency Period has elapsed (and then by giving 2 weeks notice) BUT there's nowhere in the contract that specifies what the Sole Agency Period is!

I will contact them about this as I want it specified in the contract, but what's the usual period to ask for? Thanks.

The EA will want 15, 18 or 21 weeks.

You should ask for 4, or 6, or max 8 weeks.

I assume there is a blank space on the contract for this to be specified? Just write in "4 weeks" then sign and return.

If the EA does a good job, you can keep them as long as you want.

If you are disappointed by them, you want to be able to leave.......
