Hire car excess insurance - damaged tyre 7th Sep 17 at 10:22 AM
I have a hire car which needs a new tyre. My insurance is separate and is the sort which will reimburse me if the hire company charge me some of my excess. However, I need to go to a local garage for the new tyre and the money won't go through the hire company at all, so the insurer won't be positioned to refund me.

Has anyone been in this position? How should I proceed in order to benefit from the insurance? The tyre is 170 euros.

Which insurer, cheapest is rarely best.

Which car hire company, cheapest is rarely best. Phone the hire company and get them to arrange repair or replacement car.

You mentioned !!!8364;. In Spain, damaged tyres are excluded unless you take out additional cover>
