Just thought I would share that the weather guru Dave King thinks the snow could be back on the 17th of this month for five days.

Just about to go out and post a letter and get some more bread, milk and potatoes.

ETA pollyanna It was ok, we'd got what we'd gone there for, and when we had to leave the store they opened all the doors so that people could leave quickly, and then get back in quickly afterwards. If if had meant having to walk all the way back from the beginning, we'd have had to abandon our shopping.

I'm wondering how good a weather guru \dave King is ivyleaf . Elona may be able to let us know on that . I've never heard of him . I favour Tomaz on the BBC wh's pretty adorable and does the most amazing pencil art work in his off duty time .

I've been in some Ikea shops in other areas of the uk which you can make short cuts in through the sales floor . Our nearest is the 1st one Warrington and you can't short cut in any way . Floss and I had a discussion on this a while ago . DD panics if she can't see an obvious exit and I feel ours is a risk in case of fire . The sales area is up an escalator . It may have altered now I gave up making the long journey a few years ago . Whether it's because it's the first opened and later ones were better laid out I don't know .

Pollyanna you CAN shortcut at Warrington - I did it a few weeks ago. It isn't as easy as it used to be, but if you ask one of the staff they will point you through the quickest route.

MrsLW fingers crossed for the allotmeer!

    Can I pick your brains?

I'm trying to sort out my breakfasts. At the minute I alternate between porridge one day and avocado, bacon and mushrooms the next. I'd like to get rid of the bacon so I thought avocado and scrambled eggs with a bit of spinich. The only problem is I don't know how to make scrambled egg any way other than in a pan with butter

Would scrambled egg taste OK with EVOO or is there a way of doing it without any fat at all?

That's great news Lynn, have you found anywhere yet?

Well done on surviving ivyleaf, not sure I would have gone back in!

Things are getting back to normal here, schools are open again and the main roads are clear. We still had a lot of children absent today, the parents thought it was too dangerous to walk to school. Some just used it as an excuse to have another day at home. I do wish parents would realise that their laziness shows their children that there's no need to be bothered about anything.

fuddle - I just use a couple of sprays of the low cal cooking oil to coat the pan, the egg doesn't stick as long as you keep it moving. I use a small ceramic frying pan. If I do put any milk in it's almond, tastes just fine.

Fuddle - I scramble mine in the microwave. Just put the beaten egg in a bowl with a drop of milk if you like and cook for about 1min 30 sec - it will start to cook round the edge so take it out and beat it and pop back for increments of 10 secs or so beating in between. They're done when they're still quite moist as they will carry on cooking in their own heat
Sounds complicated but it's really quick and easy.

nannywindow. sorry about that, I don't know how it happened. I made 9 dozen of the little blighters and apart from one batch that I left in the oven a bit too long they all came out fine.

Lyn, that is so encouraging, everything crossed for you.

Polly and mar I hope you are enjoying playing. I'll stand on the side lines with my trusty first aid box ready to do my Florence Nightingale act when you have finished.

The funeral went well. The food was a success and there was more than enough to go round even though more turned up than we were expecting. I sat in church counting heads.

I did feel exhausted when I got home, but it was well worth it.

    An early night for me.

good luck with the allotment person Lyn.

I had a blazing row with DS this afternoon. I rang the estate agents back from yesterday she did not even knowledge that she had sent us too the wrong one never mind appologise. She could fit us in at 2.15 there was no one available any earlier. I repeated it back to he and DS walked into the room and absolutely screamed at me about the time as it was not before two. 15 minutes is nothing when most expect us to only do weekends and evenings. I felt embarrassed.

She said she will ring back but she did not. I let him have all my pent up frustration of him not taking me into consideration at all and he knows he can't have anything like what he wants without me. He got it in the neck for shouting and interrupting me on the phone every time I try to make an appointment. He will not do any research demands a quality bigger than average 3 bed semi with a garage every time.

Yet when I found just that in the same area he wants he would not go and see it because he wanted one that was about 500 yards nearer to work and when at other times he would have turned it down because the little bedroom was too small for his desk. I don't think he wants anywhere.

Tonight after he went to bed I did a new search. I found the worst house I have ever seen in 50 years of looking at houses. It had a boat at the front big enough for us all. I expect if it ever goes out it needs a police escort it is so wide and it is on a huge trailer so the two cover up the house. I could not work out what room was what.

The living room had, had the chimney breast made round a bit like a round bay window as yes as big. It had three cubbie holes in it. there was some sort of fire at the bottom, remember when the old TV sets before they went slim, the biggest one of those was shoved into the middle one and I think some sort of video recorder up near the ceiling. The whole thing was pained shocking pink. The two chairs in front of it looked like they were old car seats out of a Ferrari or some other expensive Italian sports car.

I could not find a kitchen and I never found a proper bathroom. In what looked like the master bedroom was an enormous S shaped shower cubicle you could have got three or four people in it. on one wall were two more cubbie holes, one I think is a washbasin with a high mixer tap above it. It was way above my head. This room was painted electric blue. I don't know what it was near the ceiling.

I sent it to DS's mobile he will get the details on his way to work. Serves him right.

There is nothing but a racket going on upstairs they have been as loud as ever. The kids have been waking me at 5 am every morning. Someone is banging like putting up flat pack furniture or shelves or something for the last half hour. That is what they call being quiet.

I hope it amuses you all. I nearly sent him a house with red white and black striped carpets and dinner plate sized red flowers on the wall paper. This carpet is all over but the kitchen and bathroom even the stripes going up and down the stairs.

karcher it's so good to see you . Please post when you can . The good and bad times are equally important on this fence .
It's been a bit of what Lyn would describe as mad as a box of frogs here at times today . It's safe to mention frogs as madam rejected them as food some time ago .

I'm still hoping burtha will pop in at some point . She'll have been battling the elements and I've been hoping she's had enough wood and is a bit nearer the light at the end of the tunnel .

Meanwhile my typing has gone to pot as the day has gone on and punctuation has gone awry . Sorry for that .

NM I think that's all better out than in . You do have a voice in these searches . If your son intends buying a motor bike he has a lot more flexibility than you do . I'm so sorry everything is so difficult including the EA situation .
You have an equal right to be considered as you have looked at things from your sons point of view as well as your own .
I don't mean to offend or upset you and hope you don't feel I've stepped out of line .
You're like me . I always add a bit of black humour to similar situations .
If something doesn't happen soon you're going to be shivering wreck between the noise and inefficient agents . Not healthy or fair in anyway . A virtual hug is pretty rubbish but you're getting one anyway .

NM I think you're very protective of your son so to talk about your frustrations here must mean you're even more cross than a very cross thing.

Again, I don't want to come across a mother's love for her son but...oh NM, I could throttle him sometimes. It just shouldn't be this hard and we're all so worried for you.

Night night tired monna. It's been a day in the making for too long.

I've been having a think NM . Could you try calling his bluff ? I've just been looking online at 1 bed ground floor flats in Bolton . Some clean and decent to rent and many of the prices are affordable .
I'm not sure if you have a printer now but if you do look at a few you would like within budget and print them off.
You're obviously very hurt and upset now . Arguing with those we hold nearest to our hearts is devastating . Maybe looking at single property may focus his mind on your need to leave where you are now for the sake of your health and peace of mind .
He can't keep putting barriers in the way . Your health can't stand anymore of this situation , it's gone on far too long and things need sorting now .
He isn't thinking logically at this point at all . As the light nights come along he will get less sleep than he does now as the noise escalates both indoors and out .
I really hate to see you so hurt and upset . Feel free to ignore this post . Just thinking aloud .

I sent the details for that house because he hates anything but neutral decoration so I know he would hate the stripes too.

I have got him to agree that he must do the appointment making because he just will not accept any appointment I make. If he will not accept that he is being stupid refusing to look at a house at all because my appointment was 5 minutes later than he wanted and he did not even tell me when he wanted it.
