New diary, I have been thinking about it for a while now. I have been back almost a year give or take two weeks and boy what a year that has been, reading back over my old diary.

The title of my new diary comes from a Lucy Spraggan song, which the lyrics fit the mood at the moment.

    Reflection on the past year:
    * Current debt is now - £8500, this doesn't include the OD or the BC (yet!)
    * Changed jobs four times and looking to move again, hopefully for the last time for a while
    * Moved house - This is my favourite one
    * Year Goals when I find them again are improving
    * Got a horrible situation with DS's ex-gf sorted
    * Still trying to get my MSE head to stay on, but I'm getting there slowly

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

There are still improvements that need to be made but overall I/we are getting there. I think carefully about anything I go to buy.

I am happy that I have rediscovered the survey sites and some new ones that I hadn't done before, my overall plan for next year is to build a stash up towards Christmas and birthdays, making 2018 as frugal as I can

There are still things in the house that need sorting/unpacking/binning but it does feel like home and the kids love it and that to me is all that matters

I like trying to get the most out of £2 per day, how sad is that?

So as the song goes 'We won't abandon this ship. We are unsinkable'

Great going on the card repayments, and keep up with the run - you've plenty of time, any help needed let me know (it's my job x).

Hope dd has a lovely few days, it is nice to spend quality time with one of the kids sometimes.

Hope dh finds a job he enjoys soon.

Well done on the paying things off and lunches. I'm off work for summer and find myself snacking and getting emergency food in too much. Also well done with the running, I am a very lazy runner - as in I do it when I have a race booked in and then I just give up, need to get myself sorted!

Feeling quite proud of myself, I went to get some diesel and I thought I'd have a wander in Asda before going back to work. In there they had some Ramen sachets, the one I picked up and it sounded like a very posh pot noodle. I was very tempted but resisted I had one of my cuppa soups out of my drawer instead.

So far out of my working week, I have spent 30p.

DS is back tomorrow as much as he is a pain in the bum, I have missed him but I won't miss the mountain of washing he'll bring home though

Ordered one bit for DD for her birthday, so on the way there.

    Things to sort still:
    • Meal Plan
    • DD's birthday
    • Grocery list
    • Finances
    • Uniform list

So DS is back today and will no doubt have brought half of the IOW with him I should be able to get everything out and dried over the weekend.

DD's swimming has been changed to a new time, as she has moved up a group so that helps with the food shop as I can go before we go to her lesson.

Things I must do this weekend:
    • Meal plan
    • Food shop
    • House type stuff
    • Sort out ready for week ahead

We have SiL and BiL coming over for a BBQ on Sunday, so must remember to add that to my food list.

One good thing about the BBQ is that anything left over, I can bring to work for lunches...although not likely with DS being back lol

That's what I love about BBqs and dinners there are always left overs. I currently cook loads and then have a few meals for a couple of days. It saves on my bills, food shopping, and also is helping me save money day to day.

Love your resistance. I have not so much will power at the minute. xx

    Morning,

Busy weekend this weekend, DS home on Friday, lots of washing (please bring back the Rolls Eyes emoji ) Family round yesterday, food shop, housework. Really tired today as a consequence.

I did the meal plan and shopped accordingly, I do need to get other bits and bobs but the main things are bought.

Lunch today is left over BBQ stuff

Overindulged a bit too much this weekend, I think I need a detox but it was worth it, as we had lovely company.

    Morning,

It's lovely and sunny again in Swindon, but much cooler than it was. Makes being on site bearable as the cabins aren't overheating despite windows/doors being open and fans on the go

Work is busy at the moment, we are coming to the end of the first phase and moving on to the second one, so it's all go.

On day 5/22 for my lunches to work, again left over BBQ stuff but mixed in with salad, so fairly healthy.

Didn't drink anything alcoholic last night but had a fairly good nights sleep, I'm not going teetotal but just cutting down a bit.

DH has two interviews on Thursday, one he knows he will get an offer from, this will be a 2nd stage one and is just a meet and greet this time.

DH is now using the Cap One card for his expenses, so I can keep track better now it's nearly empty.

DD's invoice for her transport to school has come through, so need to pay that...£700 for the academic year, still could be worse could be paying for DS as well....long story and one explained in my previous diary. Money for said invoice has been put aside and just needs transferring over to be paid.

Dinner tonight is chicken and spicy rice with salad.

    Update on the job front
    Hi,

I found out yesterday that I will obtain control of the other phases from next week...Yay!!!

In other news, I spoke to my agency bloke today.

He has been trying to pin down the bloke that makes the decisions regarding recruitment without much success. During our conversation I explained that as much as I don't want to leave the company/team, I need to think about the future and can't be temping forever. He understands that and will put it to the bloke when he speaks to him.

My agency bloke is coming to site tomorrow morning for a catch up, so we'll see what happens....if anything :/

All sounding good. Hope work can sort things out.

I went through a cutting down booze stage and didn't want to go teetotal either. I am now in a stage I call 'mindful drinking' where I am not drinking out of habit, have loads of AF days and enjoy it when I choose to drink
