Weight Loss the Old Style Way! Part 10. Please read posts 1 and 2 before posting. 13th Oct 14 at 12:54 PM
Hi, i've done the best I can to piece the weightloss information together - I hope it's okay for you all

As some of you know there's been some discussion lately on how to accommodate weight loss diets on the board. It was decided that the daily isn't the place for campaigns of any sort and that there was a very good weight loss thread on the I wanna board which would offer excellent support to anyone wishing to join.

The board guides have talked about this and we'd like to accommodate a weight loss campaign the OLD STYLE way here. However, in order for it to fit with the board, it should be about scratch cooking and healthy eating, NOT about where to get low calorie/fat ready meals cheaply or fad diets.

So, here it is. The Lose Weight the Old Style Way thread. This thread is for support in losing weight but in order to keep it true to the board - which is about money saving the old style way, there are going to be some posting guidelines.

    Important. Please read:

The thread should be about healthy, Old Style eating. That means recipes and meal plans, support and encouragement and healthy eating. What shouldn't be accomodated here is if the thread goes off topic and covers ready meals, fad diets and weight loss clubs. There is a good thread that covers all that on the 'I wanna' board. So if the thread becomes an extention of that, we will have to close it and ask people to join in there instead.

Enjoy, and good luck (nb - we run 4 challenges a year, generally either 12 or 13 weeks, with a fortnight off at the end of December , so they run Jan-Mar, Apr-Jun, Jul-Sep and Oct-Dec.)
Here are links to most of the historical threads

I've been MIA the last few weeks, been a bit frantic. My friend and her son moved, so 2 weekends were involved in shifting her stuff and cleaning her son's flat for the hand-back to the agents. Then my daughter moved, so more shifting of stuff, lugging boxes, looking after grandson etc. My other daughter moved a few weeks ago into a house that needs a lot of work, so any spare time (ha, ha!) we have on the weekend, we're over hers. Only one more house move to help with; our last daughter is moving from renting to owned but no official date for that yet.
In the meantime, my in laws have had some medical problems, so I've spent many an hour on the phone to various agencies trying to help sort that out, but it's still on-going. What with all that running about, missed meals, grabbed snacks, lack of time to go swimming, my weight has gone up and down, so I've decided to start again from today.

This morning is a gain of 1/2 lb, so I need to lose 1 more pound to get to where I would like to be (and where I was a few weeks ago, dammit!) Still, could be worse.

Happy Sunday everyone, keep smiling! x

I'm afraid i didn't lose this week. Started off good but busy days led to bad food choices. Really need to set aside time to plan and stay away from the rubbish.

Was 3000 short on my step challenge, will give it another go this week!

Another week of missed meals, ringing round, health assessments etc for the in laws, means I've not been eating properly again, tho I did manage all fruit Thursday yesterday. ( almond and cherry pie counts as fruit, right?) Lol. Anyway, according to the scales I've lost weight, so I'm back on track and have seemingly lost the weight I originally wanted to. (I think) but we'll go with that.
    Happy Friday everyone x

Am completely stunned by finding a loss of ONE POUND.
    Did you get that KnitWitch?

    MINUS ONE POUND!

It seems that a week of indulgence and feasting while staying with DB and SIL and celebrating their golden wedding it just the thing to kick start a weight loss programme.

    Who would have guessed.

And yes, I have checked my scales several times. Upwards, or hopefully downwards, and onwards.

Ecstatic to report a loss of ONE POUND.

Most unexpected after a week of indulging and celebrating DB and SiL's Golden Wedding.

Must be the latest discovery......."The eat until you can't force down another brownie and cream," diet.

I'll write a book and make a fortune.

Hi Knitwitch, much as I'd love for it to be right, I'm afraid that my 3lb loss is not correct, sorry if I confused you. In total I've lost 2lbs altogether, so I've reached my target loss and just need to keep it off!

When's the last weigh in date please? x

Think I have put on a few lbs but until I am backto full fitness I am not too worried. Am not quite at the proper cooking stage again yet, still all my pre-prep'd foods in freezer with rare easy to cook foods. Have been out of fresh veg since I went into hospital, got 1 wrinkled potato, apart from that its frozen, dried and tinned. So pleased I read about the 19p Lidl tinned potatoes, I had a friend get me 6 cans and each one lasts about 4 meals so they are so handy and until I can reach down to the frozen veg in bottom of freezer they are a blessing.

Can I pop in here with everyone? I've been steadily losing weight over the last 18 weeks with a loss of 17.8lbs. Super happy with it, I know I'm not losing a massive amount every week but I had three holidays (1 week in Wales and 2 weekends away) so to average out 1lb a week is great. I also started running on the 29th May, makes me really proud that I can run around at 265ish pounds I'm hoping to do the Leicester Half Marathon on the 14th October so hoping to keep dropping a pound or two here and there!
