    O/S Daily Saturday 15 July 2017

This is an !!!8220;over the garden fence!!!8221; type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It!!!8217;s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we!!!8217;re going to do today or what we!!!8217;ve achieved already. Everyone!!!8217;s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn!!!8217;t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don!!!8217;t post large pictures, or clip art !!!8211; links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don!!!8217;t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

    Morning everyone

Hugs to those that want/need one x

Happy birthday to those with a birthday x

Very cloudy, dull and dreich here this morning, but still warm.

DH up and gone into work, I'm also working this morning, I've had a shower and just finished my brekkie, boys still in their pits.

Dinner last night was breaded chicken portions, chips/jacket potato, beans/veg for the menfolk, I had the LO caponata, cous cous and I had smoked haddock too. Dinner tonight I'm not sure about but have plenty in, so can organise whatever whenever. Workman coming back this morning to finish off the work, not much left to do. DH needs a new pair of work boots, so we must get those this afternoon.

I wasn't overly productive yesterday but did get the ironing done. The shopping was expensive again, but now have full to bulging cupboards and fridge/freezer and freezer. I'm buying much more fresh fruit and this seems to be where the expense is coming in, but if I plan and cook and use what I have the coming weeks shopping should be less expensive - we'll see. I'm also back on the diet so I'm eating slightly differently.

Only have today then this week at work then have some time off - can't wait, DH is going to be off too, he's more than ready for a break.

    Keep safe and well x

    Afternoon all,

    - could it be something to do with your thyroid problem? After30 years of an underactive thyroid my hair is so fine and is prone to falling out periodically. I don't dye it because I'm lucky enough not to have gone grey, obviously a genetic thing as mum had very little grey when she was 80.
Not sure it's down to my thyroid. I am on thyroxine anyway and my levels are checked periodically.

Prodigal is in hospital. We went to the doctors together yesterday for his mental health assessment but health issues took over and he was sent straight to hospital. He's been in there ever since.

Hubby is unsupportive and has washed his hands of him...which leaves me fighting prodigals corner whilst no one else gives a damn. The girls make the right noises but thats it. Eldest Son is happy he's getting the help he needs but doesn't want to get involved. Youngest is downright insulting towards him....not to his face thankfully.

I have had Whirlwind all morning and hubby is asleep. I'll be visiting Prodigal in an hour. I've had to buy him some clothes which hubby isn't happy about cause he's had to pay me back for to save me going into my OD.

    Onwards ........

    You get the drift...

Sending you a hug and know how you feel. DDs are coming over next weekend for a family get together so will be plenty of hugs then.

Just placed a grocery order for Tuesday afternoon for fruit, veg, eggs, frozen herbs etc and lamb mince so I can make youngest favourite kofta kebabs for her.

Saw gp yesterday and have a couple of hospital appointments on Monday and Tuesday and then another one the following week so looks as if I won't be bored

No family visiting tomorrow so will go to York and have a coffee and browse round the shops with older dd and make myself a brunch before I leave the house.

    Hugs to all.

KARCHER have a huge hug from me too. It's horrible to feel as you do with no light at the end of the tunnel. Hope things improve for you soon xx

Home! Just! Long drive home the long way made slower because of slow cars and pouring rain. I don't understand why some people are driving at 30mph on a national speed limit road and then slow down for perfectly OK bends. Breathing....

I ended up taking back the pair of shoes as well as one top for DM, she has a deformed right big toe so most shoes don't fit well, she really needs more rounded tops to the shoes. Anyway, top and shoes returned and I took some time in JL (again) to buy a couple of little presents for a friend's son who will be six years old next Saturday. Oh, and some more perfume for me. I wear Coco Chanel and ran out months ago and today decided that 'I'm worth it'!

My broadband is worse than ever, I'm seriously cheesed off with BT telling me that everything is OK, it's blooming not.

Karcher - we all feel like that sometimes. My ex and I broke up a few months ago so there's a lack of serious hugging going on here too. There's some 'hello' and 'goodbye' type hugs but nothing to make my toes tingle or my brain shake. Virtual hugs to you.

After the trials of the week I've poured myself a glass of wine, the first in FOUR weeks, or it could be FIVE. I hopped on my wagon in sympathy with Robbie Williams Ant McPartlin but he's on his own now. Actually, now I'm drinking it the urge is slipping, but I will finish the glass as it tastes so lovely.

Thanks for all the reassurances about my extravagance chairs. On good days I sit out but those folding chairs are not so comfortable. Mind you, the rain is still pouring down at Gers Towers so no chance of sitting out anytime this week.

I will now unpack, put away the small amount of shopping I did, give the flowers some fresh water and fill up the bird feeders. Then I've got a few things to watch from my PVRm.

    A good evening to all.
