Haven't even got out of bed yet and I'm irritated.
-The badly behaved cat peed in the laundry basket so all my summer clothes have had to go back in the wash and I'll have to wear jeans today.
-I've pulled a muscle in my leg and have to drag it behind me, quasimodo style
-OH ate all the bread so I can't have toast for breakfast

My esteemed husband requested I source 12mm drinking straws. Being raised Imperial, I came home with an assortment that are All Too Narrow.

Does the dear soul not get these things are now environmental pariahs & to seek them marks one out as Someone Who Does Not Care About The Planet...

In addition to which the McD coffee is nearly 1.80 a cup & not as nice as the stuff I get free with a bag for life from Waitrose. I'll be twitching for hours...

However, due to the problem with one use cups, they will no longer be providing disposable cups, so if customers want a free coffee, they are asked to bring their own cup!

Very commendable, but I suspect very few people will remember or wish to bring their own cup, so I can see the free coffee machine disappearing due to 'lack of demand'!

I'm sure there must be some compostable cups around?

    Edit......yes, these are 100% compostable........

1000 cost a few pence shy of 50, (although a bulk purchaser like
Waitrose could probably negotiate a better deal), so each cup costs 5p.

I'd pay 5p for the cup, if the coffee is free.

    Ikea.

Their website invites you buy stuff.

Then you have the option of having it delivered or click and collect in store.

Great, I thought. I want some long-handled shoe horns as the ones I bought from them years ago have started to break.

So I selected them and went to the checkout and chose the delivery option.
There was a glitch with their website, so I had to try again today.

Delivery was a reasonable price, with the goods arriving in a few days time.

So I proceeded, only then to be told that the shoehorns weren't able to be delivered!

Why have them on a website where you're selling stuff, then?

    Today's MothballsWallet irritation:

Local elections next month, Tory candidate has just had their team put leaflets through the doors - the leaflet opens with "We called to see you today and hear your views" but there was no knock on the door

Why do these people actually knock on the door instead of just shove a leaflet through?

Still, I've sent an email to say I'm happy to talk to them if they get off their chair and come round in person.
Always ask yourself one question: What would Gibbs do?

I live in the UK City of Culture 2021

I had to put mothballs in my wallet - the moths had learned the PINs to my cards...

The Beta Blockers I'm taking for certain issues are having an unexpected side effect. They have made my bowel work properly for the first time in years.

Now really, this is a good thing as it's been troublesome for some time but where it's now moving more freely I'm producing a rather large amount of wind which even scares me dog
