Windows 10 updates. . .
Been having trouble for weeks with update that wouldn't. Always recovered OK in the past.
Yesterday it didn't.
Backup for whole system from well respected, paid for, backup program wouldn't restore backup from bootable media.
"No disc detected" or some such. Probably boot record corrupt. . .
At this stage the air was a bit blue.
Reinstalled Win 10. Reinstalling programs. Looks like I might be managing to get most of the essential files off the backup, but it's s---l---o--w.
I need a rethink about backup plan.
Luckily all work files, photos etc are on another drive to the OS.
Tell me again, why do we have computers. . ?

My husband has just uninstalled and reinstalled W10. I’m not quite sure why, all I heard was a load of jibber-jabber about his memory sticks not working in the computer.
Now, I’m getting a running commentary about the antivirus scan and how it’s taking so long, etc, etc. I’m nodding sympathetically and mumbling “Yes, no, oh, that’s terrible” at the appropriate moments, but I’ve really no idea what’s going on. Not that I care!
