UK seriously considering joining EFTA so we have instant trade deals in place immediately after leaving the EU.

Just to be clear. The unique negotiating advantage talked about by other posters was the infighting and disagreement over the Brexit negotiations.
Disagreements between EU states and between the EU and its members is nothing new. It's called democracy. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -

The EU Commission has now succeeded in getting rid of the veto for the majority of issues in favour of QMV. This means that four countries - Germany, France, Italy and Spain - can outvote the remaining 23. That doesn't sound like democracy to me.0 -

UK growth prospects downgrade with uncertainty after election and Brexit worriesNew forecasts by the Centre for Economics and Business Research (Cebr) show that the UK economy will grow by just 1.3 per cent in 2017, a substantial downward revision from an earlier forecast of 1.7 per cent.
The forecast for 2018 has also been revised down to 1.2 per cent from 1.6 per cent in the face of "newly created political uncertainty", lower business investment because of Brexit and weaker consumer spending.
If borne out, this would make 2018 the year with the slowest GDP growth since 2009, the height of the financial crisis.
