Have you used the goodreads app? It’s a really handy way to keep a track of what books you’ve read or want to read and it gives recommendations for similar books you might like.
I used to use it quite a bit. Must get the app again and start tracking my readsMy LBM May 2017, DH LBM July 2017- Total Debt (not Including Mortgage) £46444.23 £40773.61 /£46444.23 87.8% paid0 -
I have read The shock of the fall and Behind closed doors. Both great books.
I am on a similar challenge in that I have two large bookcases and due to space restraints have had to get rid of one. I donated a lot of books to charity shop but am gradually going through the rest as loads I have either forgotten plot or never read.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. DH got paid back from a mate so was able to put a little more towards the Lloyds CC debt which is his.
Hit all targets for this month with a few days to go. (Except my reading target - feel behind..Arrrgghh)
Will update the reading target later
Ordered and paid for my Turkey crown for Xmas. I've used the same amazing butchers for years now and will not budge on this expense. Although I believe £45 on a turkey crown wrapped in bacon to feed 6-8 people, along with 20 pig in blankets and stuff meat is a great deal. Oh my belly is rumbling!
Been trying to sort out my car insurance and having issues with the insurance site.
I can't get better than last years deal - I think because my credit rating has taken a hit this last 6 months from moving debt around and taking out a new CC for 0% deals.
Hopefully next year will be better.
Anyways I must be off to sort tea out

Agree completely on meat - I always buy what I call 'good' meat / eggs i.e. butchers or organic / free range. I find it goes so much further because it's better quality and you need less per portion. I'm more than happy to admit spending £2.99 on 6 rashers of back bacon, £5.50 on 2 organic chicken breasts and £4.38 on 500g of organic beef mince :rotfl: Not very MSE0

October has been another successful month. Very happy with the progress and definitely on course to getting below 30k by the end of the year and to say we've had a couple of bumps along the way I'm very happy with what we've achieved so far.
Thinking ahead and to November goals I will be increasing my Ebay target. I found myself not bothering to list more because I'd already hit my target of 10!!
Anyway this coming weekend DH is going to go through his shed. An aladdins cave of tat!! There may be some items worth listing in there :rotfl:

Thank you.
With the bicycle finance that is DHs. A payment is due in the next few days and then the final one at the beginning of Dec. He's had opportunity to pay it off before but he'd decided to keep it as is due to it being interest free and concentrated on paying off other debts. I also think he's lost the paperwork and he's too lazy to look for it to try and settle it early :rotfl:My LBM May 2017, DH LBM July 2017- Total Debt (not Including Mortgage) £46444.23 £40773.61 /£46444.23 87.8% paid0 -

Well at least he lost the paper work on an interest free debt and... you know you've got a win in December when it's paid off completely.Outstanding mortgage: £23,181 (December 19)
