    On a Mission 4th Jun 17 at 9:02 AM
    So this is me holding myself accountable, publicly, albeit anonymously, for my spending.

    To be fair I'm not so bad, sort of, ish.

    DH on the other hand has issues!!

    Why am I doing a Diary? Well it all came to a head when DH spent his entire wage (1500) within a week of being paid. Of course a portion of this went to bills etc. But equally a lot was wasted on games for his playstation.

    It's frustrating because between us we bring in over 3k a month and literally have nothing at the end of it. I'm sick of it.

    So I've took on this challenge. I will do my utmost to rein DH in and fully intend to get us out of this debt.

    My intention is to tackle the different debt one at time.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I'm going to list our current debt.... GULP
    Outstanding on Mortgage - 84451
    Credit Card 1 - 2803.37 - interest free for 2 yrs
    Credit Card 2 - 1490 - interest free for 2 yrs
    Hitachi finance (for new Boiler) 3093 (includes interest)
    Littlewoods 518 (includes interest)
    Next 444
    Newlook (DH has no idea about this eeek) 130
    Loan 1 - 10865
    Loan 2 - 5964
    My overdraft currently stands at 150
    Dh's overdraft 700
    DH got a loan out last October - not sure what is outstanding on that so I'll have to update on that later.
    I do know that it's 155.12 a month payment.
    DH also has finance on a bicycle - again I need to get the outstanding on that
    Finance for a new TV - he got this against my advice - total amount was 899 - obtained earlier this yr - need the outstanding
    AND - he's recently took up a hobby that's resulted in the purchase, finance, for some items - again need to total figure on that one.
    See - he likes to buy things
    Without knowing DH's total outstanding I've totted up known figures.
    So including the mortgage we owe at least 110,608.37
    I also have a student loan that's 150 out of my wage every month. I believe I'm due my yearly statement this month so I can see what is outstanding hopefully. With 2 lots of Mat leave in the last 5 years it's taken longer to pay off. I'm hoping that I'm nearing the end though as that would be a huge help once gone.
    I do have some good habits!
    I overpay on our Mortgage. I think it's a monthly overpayment of around 120. I'll have to double check. Been doing that for years although previously the overpayments were more I the region of 75.
    I think initially I will concentrate efforts on overpaying the Hitachi finance and the Littlewoods account. Luckily with the Littlewoods account that is a buy now pay later (expires Jan) and I'm well on course to pay that off in time.
    With the Hitachi finance I currently pay just under 72 a month. I was the shittiest deal ever. However, it was Dec 2012. Our ancient boiler died. I was on mat leave. We needed a new boiler and in desperation took up the worst ever deal from British Gas. Ugh - shameful. I then just let it run it's course. I don't have figures at hand but I believe it was an 8 year deal and a disgusting interest rate.
    I logged into the account yesterday and found that it ends in Dec 2020. If I make just 18 a month overpayment it could end in Jan 2020!! I'm unbelievable peeved at myself for not concentrating on getting rid of this sooner. So that is my main goal!
    I aim to update at least once a week.
    I will not put the heating on *brrrr*
    Oh it's a chilly morning but I'm determined to hold off on the heating. Once that's on we won't be able to tolerate even this temperature and it's a slippery slope to constant heating on! Apparently it's 16.5c in my living room.
    DH forgot to use my food wraps when prepping his lunch for today He better get using them
    Have a post office visit today after the school run. 10 items to post that sold over the weekend on 3bay. Managed to put a few more on yesterday. I've got a couple of higher priced items to go on today to take advantage of their offer of 1 total selling fees that ends today.
    Today DHs Loan payment has come out. The new date each month is the 6th. This is way better due to DH'S new pay date.
    PA currently has 30.28 payable and 1.40 pending. Had a good few days here. Will cash out this evening in case anything else clears. But this will mean my target has been met for the month once cleared. However I want to try and get another 20 from PA to cover last and this month's payments to my annual bills account which I fund with PA surveys.I will, therefore be setting myself a second target in this category later this week.
    What a beautiful autumn day! Getting my washing on the line for what will probably be the last time this year. To think I was close to putting the heating on earlier this week. Madness. Weather like this surely does help when you've not had a good sleep.
    Update on the food wraps I made...a resounding success! Phew. That'll save some pennies and the environment
    Just got back from the local library with tornado toddler and the twins. They have a story maker session every Wednesday. Wasn't aware of it last week when it started but it's running until March so I'll hopefully make most of the sessions. I feel very accomplished to have got out with all three girls and get to the library and survive the hour session!! The tornado toddler loved it, dancing away, she did occasionally run off and around the library but it's a locked down session so no one can escape the building! !
    I've also had a small induction at the library to allow me access out of staffed hour times. This is fantastic, I won't have to wait until staff are in, which is only 3 afternoons a week.
    DHs job is going well. Theres so much overtime. Told him to not overdo it though.
    Hi diary,
    Not much report just popping in whilst feeding one of the twins. Can't believe they're 16 weeks today
    Had my payslip through via email so I know what I'm getting on Monday. Only 200 less than usual as my full pay element finishes toward the end of the month. It should mean that I won't need to start using my mat savings until the November pay which is good.
    Bought some tickets for a circus that's coming near to us at the end of the month. Tornado toddler has been asking non stop for a long time to go to the circus. Not entirely sure where she's got that from. Anyway, via their website it was going to cost 38 for one adult and the two eldest. But being the I am I went to TCB and through to Gr0up0n who had a deal on. So for the three of them it cost 24 but I'm getting 4.32 in cashback. Happy with that. It's a surprise for the kids. They're not getting told until they get there. They're going to love it.
    Currently batch cooking some fishcakes. I'm pretty much the only one who eats them! So I'm using up the rest of the spuds from the packet along with some YS salmon. Will freeze portions for me to have in the future. Going to have mine with wedges later whilst the rest of the family have the rest of the lasagne from yesterday. Tomorrow will be homemade pizza using some reduced price bread flour.
    Made a small payment to the BC. Ideally I want to clear it by the end of November. I have 420 of my standard budgeted for payments to go towrads it which leaves 32 to be found. I hope to achieve it from tidying up my accounts regularly and also from Qme3. Since re concentrating on Qme3 I've earned 3 which has been put towards the BC. If items manage around 3 a week on Qme3 it'll leave me with around 11 to find from elsewhere. I'm most definitely motivated to get the balance to 0. I really want it to then give me around good balance transfer rate so I can move the Lloyds balance as the 0% deal ends in Jan.
    Today I've had a super lazy day. Not got dressed. And why not? To be fair I've not been feeling too good. Maybe the disrupted sleep has finally taken it's toll. The twins have taken to sleep out of sync at night now so wake at different times.
    My fitbit says I got over 9hrs sleep last night. But it's very much broken sleep. Waking up so many times. So I can tell you 9hrs of broken sleep feels exactly the same is 3 hrs solid sleep.
    DH had been doing OT all day today. In fact he's clocked up 17 hrs OT this week alone. We've missed him that's for sure. He's not actually money motivated. Turns out they could really do with an admin person in the department but they're not allowed to get one. I'm sure an admin person would be cheaper than all the OT they're going to have to pay out! Well it'll all help in the long run. Just keep reminding DH to look after himself and allow some time off.
    He's been told to book 5 1/2 days worth of holidays before 1st Jan as their financial years runs Jan to Jan. He's yet to do it I'll just keep mothering him to book some leave.
    Right I'm off to have a chilled out family evening.
    For all those ers out there with SKY TV that happen to be reading my diary... Hotel Transylvania 2 is free to buy in Sky Store
    Pay Day
    Payday today and a few things have been paid so figures updated.
    I've sat and worked and few things out this morning after my mat savings took and hit whilst DH was off work. I had wanted to pay off the last of my student loan which is only about 110. But I think I'll wait to see what money I have left towards the end of my mat leave. I don't want to leave myself short and make the difficult decision and return to work earlier than planned. I may even have to reduce debt repayment in the new year for a few months. It'll be hard for me to do that as I want rid of the debt...but I don't want to on add to it either so...
    Forgot to add...
    My trusty ironing board broke last night! I've had that 17 years. I'll use my t3sco voucher I'd got from Gr0up0n a few weeks back and a further money off voucher that I got through the post to purchase a new one tonight. I hope the new one lasts another 17yrs!
    A rather sobering thought though is that I bought that ironing board when I started uni. ...ugh....I feel old
