Amazon marketplace seller scam 20th Apr 17 at 9:22 PM
Just over the last few days I fell for an offer actually too good to be true, a new book heavily discounted on one of my wish lists. The item was listed as located in Germany, the seller was "Just Launched" so no other feedback available. I thought I'd give a new seller a chance . After alleged dispatch a China Post tracking number appeared and simultaneously bad feedback from another buyer. The storefront vanished and a different seller offered similarly good deals on my wish list, which mainly holds highly specialised books....I had a chat with Amazon, of course being told that I have to wait it out until the delivery period of 3 weeks in this case is over before I can raise a claim. I alerted them to the other seller offering hugely discounted new books on my wish list "from Germany" . They disappeared overnight, today a new one offered some of my wants at very good prices, showing one positive feedback, probably also a fake. As buyers we are covered by Amazon but it is better not having to wait for a refund for several weeks, so beware! I now have also made my wishlists private, just in case the lists were a direct target.
