Ground rent - late payment administration charge 10th Oct 16 at 8:11 PM
I neglected to inform the leaseholder when we bought a buy-to-let, so ground rent notices, if they've been sent, never reached us. The lease-owning company has now got my details from the land registry, and sent a letter requesting the last three years of unpaid rent (a few pounds) plus 70 administration fee for late payment.

Now.. it's my fault for not informing them (or my solicitor for not pointing out that I needed to..). But a quick call to my legal advice line suggests that admin charges are only payable if specifically mentioned or allowed for in the lease (which it doesn't, as far as I can see).
I put this to the leasehold owner who just say I owe the charge. Googling and reading schedule 11 of the relevant act isn't very clear..

Not, to be honest, worth much of a battle, but am I actually liable to pay the extra or not?
