HP Instant Ink referral - free month

HP Instant Ink referral - free month 31st May 16 at 7:03 PM
HP Instant Ink is a programme for wifi-enabled printers through which you're sent ink when you need it, based on your usage (this is tracked and updated when your printer is turned on and connected to the internet).

I was originally sceptical of this, but have been using it since last year and really like the convenience of it. They claim it's cheaper than buying ink cartridges in the normal way, and in my experience this is true, though I have been using it for less than a year and haven't been keeping graphs or anything. The timing of the cartridge packs has been perfect - not too early but not too close to the wire either. I would not go back to the normal method now.

You choose a plan based on how many pages you think you'll need to print in a month, but you can print more on top of that and it will just charge you for a page bundle (e.g. on my plan if I want to print an extra 15 pages on top of my allowance, it's an extra 1). You can see the different price plans and fees for extras when you sign up.

To make it even cheaper, if you use my referral link, you'll get a free month of the service (and I will too). Thanks in advance if you use it.

Having used HP Instant Ink for many months now I thought I would share my thoughts on the service. Initially I was very sceptical of a system whereby the printer automatically reorders ink for you. What I didn't realise is how it has transformed how we use the printer as a family (2 adults, and children aged 16 and 11 with lots of school projects/homework). It really does take the worry out of ink costs, as a full colour high quality page cost just the same as a draft black and white page - and with the online system it is very easy to keep track of how much we are using. I am currently on the 300 pages per month tariff of 7.99 - which works out at 96 a year. That may sound a lot but looking at my Amazon purchase history for ink I was spending rough 60 a year on ink and using it like a miser - I was constantly astonished how quickly ink would run out even with virtually all printing being on low quality/B&W settings. Whilst we are paying more now we all can feel free to use the printer as much as we like, and I work from home a lot and also am involved in a charity which requires quite a lot of printing. Phots print fantastically as well (I have the HP ENVY Photo 6230 - which only cost c. 50 and the quality is brilliant). The cartridges come in plenty of time and it is amazing how long they last between changes - which was also a lot of hassle under the old system as even buying genuine cartridges the printer often refused to recognised the cartridges. So I am a complete convert to HP Instant Ink - so if you have just bought a printer with the free ink trial definitely use your code, then use my refer a friend code for another month free:

And then use 2MONTHSDJUK to get another 2 months free.

Opt for the maximum package (300 pages) on your trial - but put in your diary the end of the trial - then look back on your usage on the HP website and work out which package works best for you. The fact that unused pages carry over is also great because you find that if you have been on holiday and had a light month, you get a bigger buffer of usage going forwards.

    HP Instant ink HP Envy6234
I just bought the HP Envy 6234, really pleased with it so far although I paid tto much by buying in store at PC World 69.99 its available online for 53 - so I'll get a refund on the difference I hope.

You get 30 cash back after so many weeks from HP also 7 months free trial with instant ink plan.

and on top of all that I used one of the codes above to get an extra free month and if you 'd like to use mine for a free month I'll get another month pHV9D

and then on top of that add the following code also 'FREEINK' and you'll end up with 9 months free trial in total.

and what's even better is I'm really impressed with the functionality of the HP after my old Kodak printer had a breakdown !

    Hi there,

I've just purchased an HP Envy Photo 6234 on an amazing money saving offer (see bottom of post for further details)* and I used a referral code from here to claim my extra 2 months free ink.

Hopefully one of you kind souls will pay this forward by using my referral link here to claim your free months:

My referrer code is pHWHj and I believe if you also use the code FREEINK this will give you the second free month.

Just to let you know the printer came with 7 months free instant ink and I have signed up to the maximum plan. I then have gained an extra 2 months through these codes bringing the total free ink to July 2019, so I can confirm it does work. See below screenshot:

A few tips I would like to share with you:

    1) Sign up to the maximum plan - you can always change/cancel. Remember that a portion ( one months worth of your plan) will roll over to the next month so I guess this follows that anything left at the end of your free trial rolls on the the first paid month but you need to check this out.

    2) Make a diary note of when your free months expire so that you can review the program before you start paying for it. You might want to downgrade your plan when you are forking out cash for it! I've sent a reminder in my phone.

    3) You pay per print not by the amount of ink used so if you are printing photos compile a layout of photos to fit on one A4 sheet and then slice them into the individual prints - this will save you lots of prints.

    4) And this one is important...I forgot to sign up with the referrer code and when I realised I contacted HP through live chat and they added it to my account. So, if you've already signed up without a referral code, please do us both a favour and add mine through live chat.

So just a reminder - my referral link is

*The printer I bought is currently on sale at Currys for 59.99 instead of 99.99 but on top of this there is 10% off using code HP10 until 16/10/18 AND 30 cashback claim offer from HP which means that I have a 99.99 printer for 23.10 AND 9 months free ink.

    Happy Printing Everyone

**not sure why I can't add links - I've not been on here for a long time so perhaps thats it?

Hi all, Thanks for this thread. I've also got the fantastic printer deal as above and used the above referral code.

I'd appreciate it if anyone else could use mine too.

    Recommend a Friend Code: pMfpZ

CODE REMOVED - Account Closed due to broken / replaced printer.

    Promo Code: FREEINK

They get you 2 free months on top of the 7 that was included with the printer.... Just remember to add them to the "Pin Number" box at the end of the checkout process.

Also, you can upgrade your plan to 500 pages per month for 12.99 after you've done the initial setup and it changes your free months to this plan too - Just remember to set a reminder to change the subscription by the time your renewal is up.

    Thanks again
