I could do with night sight if only to keep an eye on the dog. Late night I let him off lead on the village green. He's blind and it doesn't matter to him if it's dark. He has everything mapped out in his doggy brain and he is off like a flippin greyhound

It looks like Trump is ratcheting down the rhetoric. I wonder if his staff are reining him in? Honestly with all this 'my toy is bigger/shinier/whatever than yours' stuff, it must be like having a 7 year old in The White House. One day someone will call him out on it

Karmacat one of my 'must haves' is coconut oil which has a zillion uses. I get cold pressed organic oil (from Amazon).

I'd like to see what wanders around here at night - the back field and hills. Just always wanted them since I found out the water bailifs use them to catch poachers after the salmon

I do buy some coconut oil ... current jar unopened for four months learning new food routines is on my list of things to do later this year, I really need to branch out, so coconut oil might become a go-to ingredient later on!

Mar - I've started you going with the night sights now, haven't I there might be some good stuff round here. My street light goes out at midnight, so ... foxes ... badgers ... "courting" couples behind the little copse on the rec. ground ... rats ... and there are deer seen in the tiny little nature reserve that borders the local stream, or there were a few years ago. But if I bought thermal imaging equipment, they wouldn't pick up zombies, would they, cos there's no heat signature with zombies??? Better not get them, then

Would zombies have a little residual heat in the very early days though?

    It's arrived.
    It finally arrived today.

On a different matter, I've had a bit of good news, on the health front.

I no longer need to do twice daily blood sugar testing.

Also, I'm off the Gliclazide, which means, according to the doctor, I'm no longer at risk of a "hypo".

On the down side, my Blood Pressure is still a bit high , so he's increased my Ramipril from 1.25mg per day, to 2.5mg per day.

Just been trying out my new device.

Normal background readings, in my living room, are around 0.10 USV/h, but, when I hold it up to my smoke alarm, it jumps to around 0.20 USV/h.

There's a tiny amount of americium-241 in smoke alarms, which is what is causing the jump in the readings.

    That worked well. I bought:

    - a laptop backpack, water resistant, with a USB port for use with a power bank. I need a daysack for my holiday in June, and this one can double as a hospital bag, which we talked of on here recently.

    - pack of 10 resus face shields, from St John Ambulance, individually packed. I have a nice little First Aid pack that isn't really doing anything that can hold a few of these - I can't have a mask on my keyring, its too bulky.

    - set of 6 aluminium keychain "pill fobs" - for less than the aspod, and a better fastening for me. Also means I can give one to brother, sister and SiL, we're all in danger territory of heart attacks these days.

Very pleased at this! And its all paid for by Amazon vouchers from mucking around at SwagBucks, i.e. its cost me nothing at all except time. And the time is free because its been over the winter, when I was recuperating. If anybody else is like me in that they have some spare time with access to a phone and a wifi signal, you can really get some free money for extra little bits and bobs of preps like this. /end pitch.

I do find the questions more and more difficult. How the heck do I rate the comparative value of a pink giraffe fridge magnet (made up example) if such products aren't even on my radar?

...and if anyone (Trump or otherwise) does "start it all up"

    - am I the only one that's shrugged and decided what to do already "after the event". Yep...my planning goes as far as "After I'm dead (whenever that iswhatever way it happens...) then I'll do this, then I'll do that, then...then....then......

One long rest first after The Tunnel of Light and much "Thank goodness - I'm no longer on Planet Earth....whew...relief...whew...relief" - and "my plans are made" for What to Do Next - enough to keep me going for quite some time

So - that's actually a serious thought - for those of us that believe in an AfterLife. Bit of initial planning to do - as far as we're able to whilst here....

I can't be the only one that has Made Plans I guess....
