With Open & Direct merging with Abbey, Hughes no longer offering Liberty policies, has anyone noticed car insurance renewal prices have increased by 1/3 --- any ideas where local can provide competitive prices? Thanks

I ended up with Hastings this year. Axa can't come close to matching any of the quotes I got.

i cant tell if my car insurance was cheaper than last year as i changed cars during the year with a smaller engine size. Originally with axa for my car they were able to lower it by 50 from the renewal price but abbey (my contents insurance) couldnt come anywhere near matching it by about 170. did however keep my contents insurance with them as they were cheaper than axa. Axa did say on the phone that car insurance premiums are up this year.
