Official Trying to Conceive - Thread 13 13th Apr 16 at 12:29 PM
This is the new thread for those trying for a baby.
    The previous one is here:
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=5143999

Please be aware that this is a thread for those trying to conceive. If you wish to announce a pregnancy (or are only a couple of days from testing) and you have never used this thread before, please either wait until CD1 or use the less than 12 weeks pregnant thread. Hormones can run high on here (nature of the thread!) so please be sensitive. Many thanks!

There is no such thing as a silly question, so please ask anything you are curious about. Many of us have 'been there done that' and many of our graduates still read this thread and are happy to offer advice when it is needed and relevant.

As with everything deemed medical, we cannot offer medical advice, so please visit or call your GP if you have any concerns or questions. Getting a preconception check up is recommended and allows your GP to know that you're trying for a baby as well as identifying and rectifying any issues or problems that may interfere with a pregnancy before you conceive.

So, currently 14/15 DPO which would make me 2/3 days late. Still BFN's on first response tests.

Thinking ahead - for those ladies who have had ridiculously long cycles where their AF's haven't showed on time - is it worth going to the GP? Are they just going to be dismissive and tell me to wait it out?

HappyLassie13, I can only echo what the others have said, this is totally a safe space and you can talk about your MC and feelings. It is important you talk about it and grieve. I think the holiday will be great for you, have a wonderful time!

Tryingin2018, my doctor was lovely but said that they wouldn!!!8217;t do anything until you have missed AFs for around 3 months, so basically on CD90ish. She said this is because it is normal to completely miss 1 AF and for AFs to be late due to hormones, stress, diet and many other reasons. So I would say at this stage it isn!!!8217;t worth your time and effort to go, sadly it is just waiting it out! !!!61516; I remember dong first month I had a 7 week cycle and it was torture initially but after a while I did forget about it and just ride it out.

Well AF is DEFINITELY is here, she has made herself known this morning with horrid cramps just as school started! Fingers crossed she will be gone in a day or 2 and we can make our plans for this cycle. Combining conceive plus and OPK!!!8217;s and hopefully aiming for every other day (like SMEP).

    Thank you PKK

I had a good heart to heart with OH last night and just said i don't think i'm mentally over the miscarriage yet and how I've noticed its affecting me this past week. He wondered if we needed to stop TTC but I don't want to as its more fun for me and I don't find it a chore or stressful. I've also joined a forum online for TTC following miscarriage and it helped to read through some stories last night.

19 days left to work before our holiday.. I'm at a hen do on Saturday and get to be very merry which is a positive.

I've heard a lot of good things about the Conceive plus PKK, i hope it works for you.

PKK, i still lurk here hoping to see everyone get a BFP! I used concieve plus with DD and this pregnancy and fell within 2 months of using it I think. Might be a coincidence but I think it definitely worked!

Good luck, my fingers still tightly crossed for everyone.

    Hi All

I was recommended conceive plus by a friend, but haven't tried it myself yet. I am going to wait until my Clear blue study has finished as I will be getting some OPK's to use.

AF is due this weekend, I am dreading it this month. I have had really bad stomach craps and sore breasts, so I know it is on the way! I am trying to keep busy with my studies, and then hopefully it will have been and gone, and we can try again on the next cycle!

I.m sure SMEP says to start at day 10. I had amazon cheapies so started around then even though I knew from previous months I would get a positive day 15.
Ended up doing a couple of tests a day.

Good to hear lots of graduated are lurking and had good experiences with conceive plus or similar. Hophop, yes I have my OPK’s from the trial to use now. I have used conceive plus on a previous cycle earlier in the year with no success, I can’t remember if it used it in conjunction with OPK’s or not that time.

HappyLassie13, the CB OPK’s should have a leaflet inside with a table that tells you when to start POAS. If it hasn’t you can google it. It depends on how long your cycle usually is as to when it advises to start. The SMEP says to start on day 10. As we got given so many sticks for free I am going to start on CD10 as per SMEP (based on my cycle length CB says around CD12 and I know last time I ovulated on CD21 but no worries about the cost of them this time so I’d rather by cautious).

Looks like AF has left me today, I will prob have a little spotting for another day or 2. All set for BDing from CD8!

    Sorry if this is TMI..

For the past couple of days I have just had like browny stringy discharge. Would this class as CD1? It’s not a proper period as such, no fresh blood… Usually I go from 0-heavy in about an hour so I am not sure whats going on at the moment or how to track my cycle against this!
Cramps are no different from usual.

I have discharge similar to that on some cycles BusyBargainz. I counted this as spotting and only counted CD1 once my period started properly.

    I got my BFP!!!

I did a Sainsburys early preg test yesterday and I swore it was the faintest thing ever, I thought I was going crazy, then I googled Sainsbury!!!8217;s and they seem to be notorious for false positives. This was all at 11pm last night so today I go out on lunch and by first response, after work I did a FRER it!!!8217;s there my second pink line I cannot believe it!
