Milann's life keeps getting in the way....... 18th Jan 16 at 11:00 PM
Been on these forums for some time now...........good intentions of being debt free and at target weight keep coming .....and going......and life just keeps getting in the way!!!

So it's time for a new diary to help keep me on track and push the excuses behind me and JUST DO IT....

My debt is down to £2,500 and if I'd have shaped myself I could have had it cleared but I didn't so I need to do that pronto......
My car was written off in November so I need to do something about getting mobile again, I'm wary of getting a rust bucket as I've had money pits in the past but the cash the insurance company paid out will only get a heap again and I refuse to get finance till I've cleared off the 2 and a half grand.......

I've gone a bit (lot) mad and really splashed out on a weekend away for combined Christmas and birthday pressie for dh...... never paid so much to for a weekend away before but we're going to a concert. It's not until June so I have to save for that too.

    SO this week I will
    1. Do storecupboard challenge
    2. Keep spending diary
    3. Follow Slimming World plan to get back to target 6LB to go - then I don't need to pay

Wish me luck on this last leg..............

No wonder you're annoyed about your retirement fund, I hope there's something you can do to get it back. Have you had any advice?

I know SA - must cost more to administer 67p a month than its worth
The potential, scam is in the hands of a solicitor. Itís 2years tomorrow since she passed away - sheíd be so mad. I just feel cheated -which we probably have been. They are trying to prove via bank records as there was no evidence of her investing via him in his paperwork - could be a long drawn out process. Just feel like my dreams have been pulled from under me.

My baby is 37 today how did I that happen?

A year ago today they told me I was being transferred to a specialist spinal surgeon as they thought I had a tumour on my spine....Iíd completely lost the use and feeling in my leg and they didnít know if it would return. Iím so glad they were wrong and it was Ďjustí a bleed into my spinal sack and Iíve recovered with a slight weakness in my leg. A scary, scary time I never want to repeat. Canít complain at the care I had at all the hospitals I visited though - thank you again NHS

Managed 4 NSDs this week so pleased with that.

I went back to SW a stone heavier than I was in June....if only it came off as easily.

Iím in the process of de cluttering my bedroom things have slipped big time. Iíve asked dh to clean all the windows for me this weekend - so far nothing has happened...... watch this space!!!

What a relief for you it all ended well with your spine. People call the NHS but they pulled out all the stops for Mr SA. I've also had very positive experiences with them.

Good luck with the decluttering and getting DH to window clean

Not sure where this week has gone....
I got my windows cleaned last weekend and did a decluttter of my bedroom including the dreaded paperwork boxes...been meaning to do them for months. I spring cleaned my living room and intended doing my kitchen but I never got that far. Iíd every intention of doing a cupboard a night this week Iím full of good intentions that donít happen.

I went to the hospital on Tuesday and it wasnít the best news but I was expecting it. Its going to need a big op including altering the length of a bone in my arm and grafting artificial membrane to replace the damaged one I was a little miffed as my doc wasnít there and although the doc I saw was lovely and told me scenarios of what the prof doing the op might do - he couldnít give any definite answers just a couple of options of possibilities. Anyway Iíve not slept much since partly because my arm has been so sore after being messed with partly as itís (along with a few other things) is on my mind a bit. Doc said heíd phone and let me know what was happening and get me on the list for surgery but it wonít be any time soon (I donít want anything doing before Christmas) Then today I got another appointment for the beginning of December....not sure whether thatíll include a pre-op or not. My head has been a bit all over the place.

Off to Bonnie Scotland and Northern England for a few days next week so looking forward to that. Got a lot to do tomorrow before we go though...

Thanks ladies. When he explained what they had to do and then said the professor might want to do it in stages I was in two minds whether to go ahead or not. But looking long term and realistically I donít walk anywhere as much as I used to and as I get older I donít see that improving greatly. I spend a lot of time knitting, crocheting, crafts, cooking and I love decorating cakes - none of which I can do properly if at all at the moment. I canít peel a potato or lift my gks. Itís got me down more than when I thought Iíd lost the use of my leg last year. Iíve got to go for it -otherwise how will I fill my time and creativity - Iíll go stir crazy just using the puter and watching tv I hope whichever way he does it - itís all in one go.

Forgot to say 2 NSDs this week

Had hoped for an NSD today but ended up treating my dh an ds for a meal out. We went to the most bizarre and amazing place. An Ethiopian cafe - a friend told us about it. I had no idea what to expect but it was delicious. It was like a cross between a transport cafe/childís cafe and restaurant. The lady who runs it is one of lifeís characters to say the least. We ordered samosas for starters and a main dish each. I had a delicately spiced lamb stew the other 2 had a spicy dish and when it came there was a big round tray of various accompaniments that Iíve never seen before - salad, chickpeas, beetroot, lentils, oatcake style wraps, corn bread, potatoes, and lots of other bits too all cooked Ethiopian style. We were stuffed - the whole lot for the 3 of us including soft drinks was £34,50. It was on a main road near industrial estate and doesnít look anything from the outside - if it was in town the food would easily be twice the price.

Nearly time to leave Bonnie Scotland - had an amazing time although itís been blowing a gale weíve been on Britannia, rode the Falkirk wheel spotted Kelpies although it was sooo windy we stayed in the car rather than getting out to look. The air bnb is fantastic - overlooking the Firth of Forth literally on the banks quite close to where Britannia is - the view from the windows towards the Forth Bridge are amazing - donít think I want to give this place back. Weíve bussed it into Edinburgh and travelled to Dundee for an hour or so to see how itís changed since we visited over 20 years ago - Iíd have like to stay longer but there was a lot I wanted to do. Weíve spent a fair bit on meals out and my sw has gone out of the window but we had a fair bit of cash to cover a lot of it as wedding anniversary and birthday presents.

Whatís amazed me is how quickly it goes into countryside once you leave a town - rather than 1 town running into the next.

Iíve thought of my virtual friend Beanie whilst Iíve been here but dh doesnít quite understand the virtual relationships we get on here. Iíd have loved to meet but maybe another time when Iíve more time and on my own if that ever happens.

Weíre off to Newcastle tomorrow Iíd much rather stay in Scotland but Iím sure weíll have a good time.

In a funny sort of,way Iím looking forward to,getting home on Saturday and regaining control of my food intake and spends - Iím in danger of losing my spirit of fun and adventure so I can control....got to give myself a talking to and remember to get the balance right......

Funnily enough I hace been thinking of you
You have seen 'my' bridge & been over the new one.
Big changes in Dundee since you were there.
I havent been to the V & A yet, the exhibition I want to see is quite expensive sadly.

Yes Beanie Iíve been over the new bridge. I can see 2 Ďarchesí or whatever the official term is for the original Forth Bridge from the flat we are in. Iím currently sat watching the lights flashing on the bridges. We parked in a Ďfreeí parking spot quite close to the V&A and only had a short time so saw Discovery and went in the V&A shop (and loos) but not into any exhibitions. If you ever go Beanie just be careful as itís a real wind tunnel as you walk under the building. We went to see The Unicorn (boat) which my kids loved when they were little and the area around there has changed big time. Iíd have loved to have visited the headquarters of the charity that helped us lots when my son was little and was in and out of hospital as the headquarters are in Dundee - The Britttle Bone Society but time just didnít allow - Iíd also have liked to visit the lady who founded it - again she lives in Dundee and is now in her 80s - that is why Dundee is quite special to me. They used to have access to a caravan in Monifieth which they funded us to visit several times - it was a life saver at the time and I have very fond memories.

We were going to go to the pictures tonight but couldnít get in so came back for a chill.

Got back home yesterday - weíd planned on stopping off somewhere en route but the weather was awful. It was snowing from leaving Newcastle until we were in North Yorkshire - really heavy at times. So we headed home.

We ate from the freezer last night and Iím planning a little trip to Morrisonís to get a few bits to fit around my freezer contents. I want to run it right down then clean it, go to nice food market not too far from here and stock up by having a massive cooking session. There might be a few odd combinations over the next week or so...then Iím fully stocked if they go ahead with my arm....

Although I spent a fair bit whilst away Iím still hoping to pay my cc off next month minimum spends on everything including food.

I missed SW last week with being away so Iíll have to pay for that next week and get back on the SW bandwagon. I NEED to lose at least a stone before I have surgery - my BMI is the highest itís ever been, I want it back to 24. Iím focusing on that rather than scale numbers.

Need to get my behind into gear and organise lots of areas of my life

Well my little trip to Morrisonís turned out to be a bigger trip to Sainsbobs as we were going to take advantage of free cake in John L which is next door, but it was heaving and they only had a few cakes left (I was going to share with dh) so we skipped and went straight into Sainsburyís. £50 later....but that included 2 birthday presents so I was ok with that.

Had a letter from the GP to make an appointment to discuss the results from the dexa scan I had recently....guessing there has been some deterioration from the last one I had 10 years ago since she wants to see me.....

I thought I was back in work tomorrow but just found out itís an inset day and I donít have to go in will go for the swim Iíve been promising to do for ages.
