I reckon you customised this for me, Alfie!

    Eyes
    Weight
Eggs (Yep, eaten them again today).

I probably sound brighter than I feel. Apart from my eyes, this bug is not getting better. I was warned to expect immune system problems, hence my recent and continuing large doses of vitamin D.

I'm just relaxing now & waiting for my son to arrive. We've got
an early'ish start tomorrow morning - cat is now getting mighty

    car.

    World Egg Day?..........

    Alfie, you missed this classic........

"For centuries, eggs have played a major role in feeding families
around the globe. They are an unbeatable package when it comes
to versatility and top-quality protein at a very affordable price. "

Not much good for scrambled eggs or omelettes, then.

    No bra day?

Having said that, I have a problem with bras at the moment. When I previously lost weight, I gave away all my 'bigger' bras, and bought a load of new ones in a smaller size. Over the last year, as you know, due to being ill a lot, the weight's gone on, but I refuse to buy bigger bras yet again, when I've got millions of smaller ones that are perfectly good, especially as this weight is going to go!

The trouble is, if I have one on all day, it really digs in and is uncomfortable, so if I'm not going out, I don't put one on.

There's no way I'd face the world, though, without me reinforcements!

Snap, snap, snap & twang - same as you re bras (or brassieres as
mum used to call them! )

Talking of bras - found the following interesting article ....

The term brassiere was used by the Evening Herald in Syracuse,
New York, in 1893. It gained wider acceptance in 1904 when the
DeBevoise Company used it in their advertising copy—although the
word is actually Norman French for a child's undershirt. In French,
    it is called a soutien-gorge (literally, "throat-supporter")

During the 1940s and 1950s, the sweater girl became fashionable,
supported by a bullet bra (known also as a torpedo or cone bra)

Well, had better love you and leave you, son's just messaged
    me, he'll be here soon.

Have a brilliant weekend, behave yourselves & I'll catch up
with you Wednesday. Might be hovering in the forum Tuesday
evening, preparing my post for the morning. Be gooooood!

I punned on another thread, but it got totally missed.

I was talking about Gyles Brandreth and I said:

I think Gyles' sense of humour is great. I saw him on QI the other week, and he stole the show......cracked me up! He's a good egg. Can't be beaten.

    But they all missed it.

Apparently it's a quadruple jab this year.

There was something on the news recently about a breakthrough having been made to provide a one-off vaccine for flu, but I don't know how long it will take to roll out.

Hello and a happy weekend Alphabetty's.
Windy and sunny here although it did rain earlier.

I feel a lot better (bug and eye) now, so happy as can be expected.

Bought a jacket 1/2 price in Sainsbury's which I needed and am pleased with. Just shared a bottle of rose with Mme. so wagon not scheduled to stop here today. In Alfie's abscence , I shall have an extra glass of red for her later .

For Pyxis - Where are you? Hope that you are ok.

Well, bargains in Sainsbury's or what?
After yesterday's £14 jacket / coat, found 2 x Higgidy pies today for 79p each, and 2 x Heidi (Goat's cheese and spinach) pies foe £1.14 each. Cooked one of the Heidi's for tomorrow, froze the rest.

Veggie pizza, garlic / coriander naan bread and chips tonight.
And wine, but don't tell ...

Ooh, by the way, I'm away this weekend. Not Lincolnshire, though, and not woods.
    Somerset!
    And not cheese caves either!
However, I'll probably be able to pop in in the early mornings, I expect.
