It was more numbness in fingers, which has settled down a lot. Maybe did something to the nerves? Anyway, had lunch and wine and sleep, feel a lot better ... I'll sleep on it.

Actually, A & E might be really quiet during the match tonight, so if anybody wants to go, have an accident quick.

Food (chicken wings / Turkey Papuilettes) in oven for the boss. I'm having Mushroom Mince in a spicy sauce and Tarka Daal. Both of us have Carrot, Swede and Potato mash. Wine for both, pear cider for boss and obligatory crisps for the match which I have sampled already ..... Phew! That was more of a mouthful to say than to eat!

Poisette, I have a request of you .... If, at some point you wish to call me by a vegetsble's name, would you refer to me by the French name for Cassava please?

    Pom pom (get it)

Right.........will start getting ready to go to Waitrose.

I think that on my return, I may well need nagging.

However, I shall buy a bottle of my favourite beer in case we win, (ok, maybe two!) and another bottle (or two) in case we lose.

    Good morning lovely Alphabettys

I hope you're all well and raring to go on this thoughtful
    & glorious day!

    About the big butterfly count

The big butterfly count is a nationwide survey aimed at helping us
assess the health of our environment. It was launched in 2010 and
has rapidly become the world's biggest survey of butterflies. Over
60,000 people took part in 2017, submitting 62,500 counts of
butterflies and day-flying moths from across the UK (see all the
    2017 results).

Nick Baker introduces the big butterfly count >>>

    Why count butterflies?

Butterflies react very quickly to change in their environment which
makes them excellent biodiversity indicators. Butterfly declines are
an early warning for other wildlife losses.

Thats why counting butterflies can be described as taking the
    pulse of nature.

The count will also assist us in identifying trends in species that
will help us plan how to protect butterflies from extinction, as well
as understand the effect of climate change on wildlife >>>

    https://www.bigbutterflycount.org/about

    Step 1: Get ready

Download our handy butterfly chart or free app for iOS and
Android to identify and record the butterflies you spot.

    Download the chart >>>

    Step 2: Join in

Choose a place and spot butterflies and moths for 15 minutes.
Good places include your garden, a park, or in a wood. Use our
ID chart to make a note of which species you see. Click to watch
a video of Nick Baker introduce the big butterfly count >>>

    Step 3: Submit sightings

Record your big butterfly count sightings here >>>

    View results map

See which butterflies and moths other people have spotted near
you and across the UK on our big butterfly count 2018 results
map. You can also read all the analysis and results of the 2017
    Count >>>

    Free smartphone app

Count on the move with the FREE big butterfly count app.

With the free smartphone app for big butterfly count you can
carry out and submit your Count all in one go while out and

    Good Morning Alphabetty's.

Hope that all are ok after yesterday's excitement!

Haven't seen many butterflies this year, but did see a centipede yesterday. Black & Yellow .... incredible how they walk!

Talking of butterflies, I saw a lovely peacock butterfly yesterday.

They seem to like landing on my back wall, for some reason. This one landed on the back door!

Th roads yesterday evening weren't as empty, again, as I thought they'd be, on the way to the supermarket, although Waitrose was like a ghost town. Tumbleweed rolling down the cheese aisle!
Never seen it so empty! Mind you, I don't think I've ever been there at 7.30pm on a Wednesday evening!

I'd wanted to stock up with my favourite loo rolls as they were on special offer, only to find the offer had ended.

I spoke to one young chap stacking shelves about him missing the match, but he said he didn't mind because he had a new baby, so the chance of overtime and extra hours was more important.

    I was quite impressed.

Going home, though, there was hardly any traffic at all. At one big roundabout, where there are usually a lot of cars, I just sailed round with nothing coming in any direction!

Anyway, got home, and now I need to be nagged. I was a bit naughty.
Only bought 2 bottles of beer, though, but I drank them both. Then when I woke up this morning, I wondered why I felt strange, and it was a while before I realised I was a bit hungover!
The beer I like is a very strong one! Serves me right! Plus I'd had crisps, , so I was a bit dehydrated, even though they were the salt 'n' shake ones, and I don't put the salt on them.

So I drank loads of water and green tea, and feel better now. That'll learn me! (Sorry Inde!) It's months since I last felt like that!

That gooseberry and banana ice cream I made was so nice that I , erm , bought some more gooseberries and more clotted cream, and have bananas arriving today, so the plan is to makes some more.

    Bad Pyxis.

In my defence, I've only had two ice creams this year. One was on holiday, but it was so sickly sweet and horrid that I threw it in a bin after only about 3 or 4 licks.
The other was last week when the sweeties shop had my 'favourite' blackcurrant and clotted cream ice cream, so I bought a tiny tub, but it tasted sweeter than I remembered.

The one I make doesn't have any added sugar.....just gooseberries, bananas and clotted cream. The bananas provide the sweetness, and the gooseberries offset that with a lovely bit of sharpness.

I also want to try making a bit with some almond milk instead of the clotted cream, and see how that turns out.

I'll have a try making that ginger beer as well. I have some molasses sugar, so I'll use that......it might give it an extra kick!
