So.......today I have ordered a huge amount of sugar free sweets

The Ricola are ridiculously expensive, about 4 or 5 times the cost of normal throat sweets So I've just ordered ordinary sugar free boiled sweets. I have a feeling that they will probably give me the trots but I will at least try to cut the full fat ones out in February.

I'm making no promises though coz if they spark off me IBS I'll have to revert to the normal ones

ETA: I too have an addictive personality and no offence to anyone who partakes of alcohol, not a single day goes past when I don't thank God I don't drink, coz if I did I'd probably be dead now
Some people only exist as examples of what to avoid...

I quite like the butterscotch sugar free sweets from Aldi, about 70p a box, they do mints and a couple of other flavours (another one here with a mildly addictive personality)

    PYXIS's DRY JANUARY!

    DAY 4: Jan 4th

    Another day got through.

I did have to pop into a supermarket yesterday, but I steered clear of the drinks aisle!

Have been in a lot of pain with my foot, which had been another reason for reaching for a drink, but with none in the house, that wasn't possible anyway!

Well done Pyxis. Are you finding it difficult? When I first stopped drinking I actually felt better (Hence the fact that I still very rarely drink)

If I'd still had any in the house, it might have been a lot harder.

Plus posting the mini-blog on here really helps, 'cos there's no way I could face you lot if I gave in!

However, I was getting worried about it, plus I need to shift the weight I've put on through being inactive for months due to illnesses and injuries etc., so I reckoned that stopping the alcohol would reduce my calorie intake considerably without me having to be hungry.

I also need to resume the 5:2 regime, which the illnesses stopped me doing.

The leg and foot stuff also meant that my exercise went for a burton a long time ago. However, before Christmas I restarted some very gentle Tap, and today I restarted some very gentle Zumba. (Two years ago, I had been doing 5 dance classes a week, which dropped to 0 for two years. )
My foot does hurt, but I've got to build up my leg muscles again, and improve my general fitness, which will improve my breathing.

So pathetically low-impact poodling classes will be a start.
Today I wasn't moving about much in the class, yet still got out of breath! Just goes to show! It'll come back quickly, though, as long as the foot doesn't stop me.

SO, you're all giving up biscuits for February are you?

    What have I unleashed!

The only biscuits I've been eating lately have been Fox's Viennese Sandwich, and there aren't any in the house, but if you like I'll make sure I don't have any of those, plus I could deffo get back to the 5:2 in Feb, if I haven't made a start this month.

Dunno if I could give up lettuce though.
That's a step too far. Much too far.
    Alcohol, yes. Biscuits, yes. Lettuce.....noooooooooooo! Don't make me! I won't! I won't!
