Reclaiming money back from various payday loan companies 17th Jul 15 at 8:32 PM
Hi all just wanted to share some good news regarding payday loan companies.....
From early 2011 until mid 2014 I too was caught in the payday loan trap, all my own fault may I add, I borrow the money and in the end paid every penny back, would estimate 15000 over the years maybe 20.
Early this year I saw all the news regarding payday loan companies and irresponsible lending, unfair interest etc etc etc, so I decided to have ago and try and get a few quid back myself.
So far I have been in contact with 5 of the companies I was lending multiple loans from at the same time with many roll overs too, I have received 4 apologies and offers totalling over 5000 and the other complaint is now with the ombudsman.
I never expected these amounts back but if you too were in the same situation, get all your facts in order and get complaining, from the initial email sent I had the money back within 8 weeks.

Waiting on 247 money box processing a £550+ refund and wageday advance administrators have estimated a £793 redress.

    Complaining with DMP
Hi, can someone help me, Iíve tried reading the thread but Iím lost. Iím currently in a DMP with debts including 118, quickquid, bamboo, lending stream, piggy bank. Totals about £9000. Iíve been in a PDL cycle since 2014. Iíve had more loans with Wonga, wageday advance and sunny, mr lender, uncle buck just to name a few. How do I go about complaining? Will it affect my DMP? I donít even know where to start.
    Thank you

I started my reclaim journey a few days ago using resolver. I'm was deep in payday loan trap and this has left me in a multitude of debt (I take full responsibility and am trying to sort this out)
Anyway I have made a complaint to Uncle Buck who are also trying to take me to court for £300 when the back balance of loan at default was £146. I have received a response asking me to call them. What do I do? I suffer with MH issues and am confused!

Anyone know how long the FOS take to come back to you? I submitted all the information they requested the end of January and have heard nothing. Even sent a couple emails to them with no response in regards to my claim against SNC

I'm going through the process of making a claim against QuickQuid as I was stuck in the payday loan trap from 2012-2014. It's the same old story - I was taking out a payday loan as soon as I paid off the last one, but still incurring bank charges and building a huge pile of debt.

At the same time I was using QuickQuid, I had a CashPlus (or Advanced Payment Solutions-APS) card which also had a payday loan like feature of being able to borrow an amount which was put on the card, which you then paid back at a date of your choosing within 30 days.

I just wondered if anyone has had any success making a claim again APS on the same basis as a payday loan?

Are there companies that do this for you?

I had a bunch of payday loans from 2010-2013 that I paid off but I think I might be entitled to compensation as Wonga and Quickquid rolled me over mulitle times.

Anybody else having issues with getting refunds from 247moneybox?

I was offered a refund over a no month ago but they still haven't paid it out.

They've been stalling with various excuses

1-they need to calculate the 8% interest, I did this in 5 mins
    2-its with the payments team.

I have been spamming them with daily emails to garner some kind of response but they very rarely reply.

I have called them and they always insist that they do not have the facility to transfer me to a) the payments team or b) a manager.

I'm concerned that maybe they are stalling on paying out in the case that they are another pay day company entering administration.

Would like to hear other people's experiences of getting refunds from them.

    Thanks

247moneybox seem to have no staff or setup behind their website. Their Twitter posts online apparent 5 star review but there's loads of responses asking if they ever respond to queries. Their website offers a text service it seems like nobody mans and they take several days to pay payday loans - so good luck getting your payment there's probably nobody even handling it. Genuinely believe it's run by a couple of people end to end (or the staff just don't have an interest in providing service).

After reviewing the amount of payday loan companies I dealt with between 2014-2016 (there was around 15-17) and looking at all my statements I decided to claim against 4 of them for all but the first loans I took. Based my decisions on who rapidly increased my credit balance, offered several loans per month and did no additional checks on affordability - despite me defaulting on essential bills such as council tax, utilities and water and with a very poor credit score.

I was stuck in the trap of having to get larger pay day loans out to pay off previous pay day loan payments and on occasion was losing 400p/m of my salary - I only got out of the trap in 2017 when I used my full yearly bonus to bulk pay off my loans.

Claims are against MyJar, SNC, Sunny and Peachy. SNC in particular had access to my online banking transactions and could clearly see substantial online gambling (an addiction I have since overcome). The others made limited to no checks aside from the basic rent/utilities. Accept I chose to take these loans at extortionate rates - but ultimately it was a case of loan or starve some months.

All have acknowledged the claims I'll post the results here when I get them. Good luck to everyone

    It seems that way.

I just don't understand why they would make an offer in the first place, stalling so I don't escalate to FOS?

I will continue to spam them with emails and phone calls, doesn't get me anywhere but satisfies me to annoy them slightly.

    Wda
After falling into the payday circle and managing to just about claw my way out of it Iím now looking at putting in claims due to having 3-4 loans all the time.

However, one of the main lenders was WDA who I know have now been taken over by Shelby. I still have an outstanding balance with them for £221.20.
Who do I complain too? Over the space of 2 years I borrowed over £2500 from them.
Would I be right in thinking that as Shelby have now taken the loan over I would complain to them? Very lost right now.

As for others Mr Lender and 24/7 moneybox I will do this now - is it better to use resolver or send letters?
I was also with safety net credit for over 3 years ( the amount of interest I have paid makes me want to cry )because this is a rolling one with them taking money out the bank is there a special way to deal with them or do I do it the same as the others?

Sorry for all the questions Iím trying to get my finances back on track so that I can look at getting a mortgage in the future to give my girls so security. Thank you.

I personally used Resolver as it houses all my communications in one place and gives me a bit of a template to use when contacting companies - but it's not for everyone many on this forum did it themselves using templates from debtcamel.

For SafetyNet I did it through Resolver too in exactly the same way as did others with some success and some rejection.

I had a similar initial response from Uncle Buck asking me to call them to discuss the case.

I want everything in writing so replied to the mail asking for email correspondence only. They have since come back to me by email.

Does anybody have an email address for Lending Stream?

I submitted my claim to them through Resolver but just got a “this e-mail address is not in use” message. Same thing happened when I used the email addresses that had been used at the time of my loan.

    Any help is appreciated
