New Diarist - Attacking the Banks! 13th Mar 15 at 12:18 PM
    Hi all,
Thanks for popping and helping me to stay motivated. This would be the 3rd version of the opening post, but is reflective of where we are currently at. Lots has changed over the last 3 yrs, not least adding a 3rd child to our household!

This post details my current goals, and as it seems a shame to ignore previous achievements I've summarised them below. This is a 120 payment challenge which would knock 11yrs off our initial draw down of 30yrs. I'm hoping for 100 payments so we'll see how we progress!

    Achievements - 38 payments
    • Balance - 95,015.63
    • Diary Reduction Total - 40,984.38
    • Cumulative Overpayments - 22,705.11
    • Monthly Average Overpayments - 597.50
    • Monthly Average Net Reduction - 1,078.54

    Long Term Targets
    • 5yr/60th payment - 70,000
    • 7yr/84th payment - 38,000
    • 9yr/108th payment - 7,000

    Targets for 2018
    • Jan 2019 - 98,200 - Actual 98,173.08 (26.92 ahead)
    • Feb 2018 - 97,000 (End of Yr 3 Balance 39k diary reduction) - Actual 97,132.75 (132.75 behind target)
    • Mar 2018 - 95,900 - Actual 96,102.38 (202.38 behind target)
    • Apr 2018 - 94,800 - Actual 95,015.63 (215.63 behind target)
    • May 2018 - 93,700
    • June 2018 - 92,600
    • July 2018 - 91,500
    • Aug 2018 - 90,400
    • Sept 2018 - 89,300

This was our worst overpayment month for 2016 which is slightly disappointing, but with lots of house work going it hardly surprising. Still i am very pleased with progress, though not pleased with my lack of postings and diary readings!!

In other money news i've hit the 1k profit mark on matched betting. I have no idea what to do with the money though!!

Well I'm returning! Renewed, refreshed and reinvigorated...!

Without making excuses Miss Baby SJ has been more time consuming than i imagined...Well that and DS2 starting school as well. Anyway we seem on an even keel again, so i'm hoping to pick up this diary again.

As a snapshot i've still been OPing and we now stand at a balance of 107k. We remortgaged to 1.64% fix for 2yrs and our daily interest is now approx 4.70. We remain on course for MF in 7-8yrs, u less we can have some late acceleration and we may sneak in at 6-7.

Anyway there i've done it and logged in and posted for the first time since 1st December 2016... So now i'll crack on with updating my signature, setting some new targets and hopefully posting some figures in the 3yr thread that i've also neglected.

I'm sure none of you have really missed by ramblings, but it feels good to be back...!

Oh and i will be catching up everyone else diaries!

Thanks all. It feels good to be back. The longer i wasn't on the more it was in the back of my mind that i need this to keep us on track. Baby SJ hit us for 1k more of maternity savings than i'd budgetted for e gone and we've been gradually paying it back to our savings. Please to say its now under 100 and will by this months pay.

As ever summer is upon us and i've very much neglected the garden so i'm getting it sorted this weekend. I'm currently on a brew break from powerwashing the patio (its a big area, so very much a 4-6hr job). Im just dreading the cleaning up . I have the brush in cement ready for Sunday to! Then im going to tackle the mountain of baby plastic s**t that has accumulated in our garage.

Ebay listings stand at 116, with 8 having bids on, and i reckon we have another 40-50 listings to put on.

As for MBing, i ended up making 3,450 from June-June! But, and this is the thing that is driving Mrs SJ crackers... I cant bring myself to spend it! I just keep looking at the figure growing in the bank!

    Anyway, brew drunk, patio awaits.

    TT'd 44p this morning!!

The number of Ebay listings you have up puts me to shame...I can barely put up 12 items without feeling fed up

3.450 from MB - that is incredible!! I must get Mr Lou into this Are there any negatives to MBing at all?

    Keep up the great work!

Patio powerwashed and brushed, and i made a start on the garage by doing the first tip run! So feeling rather smug!

I've updated the first post with some targets for year 3 of the diary. I've basically set a challenge of a net reduction of 1,100 per month as that will get me to magical figure of 99,999 at Christmas. To be honest i reckon I'll fall short by about 600, so ill say it now and you can all hold me to it...

If I miss the target by less than 1k i will make this shortfall up with MB cash

Well just before i head up stairs for a shower i've checked our ebay listings and we currently have 11 items selling out of the 116, and 3 more days of auction to go.
