I am going to copy over all my posts about my new kitchen or lack of it!!!!

I am changing my thread name back to a more saving focussed one so I don't get distracted.

Addendum: I have changed the name again as I am planning to chill out now I have savings and am going to continue to save for happy times. lol.

Steve is now off the breathing ventilator and can talk a bit.

I've done a bit of ironing. I've a little marking to do. It's lovely and bright outside.

I've just realised I lived on 40 cash last month but I did buy quite a few sale items on my credit card. It shows I can avoid spending money.

My friends want to go for meals with me and I am going to have to have drinks instead if I wish to continue to save a minimum of 500 a month. That never goes down well.

I've just realised I lived on 40 cash last month but I did buy quite a few sale items on my credit card. It shows I can avoid spending money if I put my mind to it.

Many of my well off friends want to go for meals with me and I wish to continue to save a minimum of 500 a month. That never goes down well with them and I am celebrating a birthday with them next week. I have 20 in my xmas fund that I will use for her present though. I will just have coffee though rather than a meal.

Glad to hear Steve is off the ventilator and coming round enough to talk. All sounding v positive.

Sometimes to save money I just have a starter and ask them to bring it out with the main meals. I also ask for free tap water. The coffee can be as expensive as a starter in some places !

    Thank you.

I will try to stick with whatever is cheapest. They just love socialising over restaurant meals and I don't have the same mindset. I wish they were MSE.

Oh gosh savingwannabe, I hope Steve recovers quickly and gets home soon. At least he's off the ventilator now! Have you thought about suggesting you each hosting dinner? Some of my friends and I do that. Whoever is hosting cooks the dinner, then the guests bring wine and dessert (agreed in advance as to who is bringing what). Makes it much much cheaper, and you can actually spend more time together as you don't have any sensation of being gently ushered out of the door by the waiting staff!

I'm ok. I'm worried about how Andy is coping. At the moment he is as unflappable and coping with it all as usual. Luckily Susan is v kindly moving in with me for a few weeks to make sure they can visit Steve everyday to encourage him in his recovery. I will be going at weekends.

We just want Steve to make a recovery and treasure him as he is such a star. I can't imagine life without him. And it was so close.

Work was ok. I spent 1.25 on fizzy pop to stay awake as we came back from hospital really late last night. I must stop buying crap.

Payday is here. So glad. I will be paying a massive credit card bill from xmas. Then I am on a No Ebay Month. So far last month I saved only 250 as I used some of the rent money for my massive credit card bill. .

I have only about 232 for food and fun this month after all bills are paid I think.

Eeeeek, good luck with the no Ebay month!! You can do it!

I know how you feel about the credit card bill, I had to buy flights to the US this month and have had to put it on my credit card.... I need to have a bit of a financial tidyup this weekend and shuffle some money across from my savings to pay that off this month. I start my job on Monday so will finally be able to stop living off savings though, can't wait!

I'm so glad you're not having to deal with this alone. Is 230 for food and fun feasible for you? Sounds like some meal planning is in order

Hi on my new low salary that is going to be my new permanent spend on food and fun. Yikes.

I'm going to walk to supermarket tomorrow and take the taxi back as I am desperate to get some food. I left work early as I have to pop to get urgent prescription. Going now.

I am waiting to see when I am visiting Steve. I do have to do a food shop tomorrow too. The food shop will hopefully last for two weeks and cost 33 but I had to pay 8 for a taxi.

Ive done a fair bit of tidying so am v happy. Just waiting for Susan to wake up at 3ish and then we can visit Steve.

Yesterday I spent about 1.65 on sweets. Today I didn't spend any and for the first time in ages dried my clothes outside on the line. Very MSE!!!!

Work has changed my day off and I am marking tomorrow from home but I will do it quite slowly. I did some today as well. Now it's chill time.

He is. I hadn't been able to post as my password needed changing and I forgot what the old one was.

He is much better and is at home now. However I have had stress headaches for days and I have been resting. I am not going out to visit anyone for the rest of the week and am just going to appreciate the peace and quiet at home whilst catching up with work when the headache goes.

Susan will leave soon and then my parents are coming.

So glad Steve is back home, and hope that your headaches are fading fast. Stress ones are the worst, you know why they're there, you know you can't get rid of them without being less stressed, which in turn makes you feel more stressed!

Yes, you are so right. Today is going to be a good day. Susan is leaving this afternoon and I am tidying round her then I am marking and waiting for my parents to arrive.

House is spotless. Yay. I will clean the windows tomorrow and then carry on with work.
